Time for Cartier is a playground. The opportunity to go to new places and continuously reinvent the Maison’s stylistic grammar. Wouldn’t you like a watch with a unique shape and perfect to match your evening outfits? Something to set hearts aflutter? With the newly introduced Coussin de Cartier at Watches and Wonders 2022, it’s time for the traditional cushion to go through the process.
Introducing A Triangular Setting In Gold And Diamond Versions
The Coussin de Cartier watch is mostly a square bordered with spiral diamonds. Everything is contained within the cushioned shape of the case, which is embellished with stones of various diameters that highlight the movement, as well as bold and graphic gold edges that emphasise its attractiveness. This aesthetic effect is the result of the Maison’s expertise. The workshops used this opportunity to debut a triangle setting, which allows the diamonds to be directly merged into the case without the use of standard grain settings. The metal fades away, revealing the stone’s brilliance and enhancing its radiance.
Dare To Invert The Stones With Two-tone Versions
The watch makes the chromatic choice of the duet in its two-tone edition. Cartier inverts two colours for the stones. The pavilion becomes a stud, a decorative element, with diamonds and black spinels, Paraiba tourmalines, and tsavorites. Once again, the Maison’s artisans will be working in an inventive, careful, and technical environment. The end product is a robust and textured jewellery watch with personality.
The Cartier Manufacture’s research and innovation laboratory has created two limited editions of the Coussin de Cartier watch. A creative team created a soft, flexible case totally paved with diamonds or coloured stones such as emeralds, tourmalines, tsavorites, and sapphires.
Cartier has incorporated an inventive element into a delicate timepiece made up of gold links that interweave to construct a grid pattern. The case will bend and return to its original shape as a result of this. The enormous range of diameters and stone colours, which is unprecedented at Cartier, makes this process even more complex. The fact that the watch is flexible adds to the complexity of this procedure, as it requires the watchmaker to seal it with resin before releasing it.
On all levels, the Coussin watch is a sensual piece of art. The iridescence of diamonds and coloured stones electrifies the sense of sight in addition to the sensation of touch!
