Armin Strom isn’t a watchmaking Maison where a leverage of borrowed heritage is employed to reinforce credibility. It is as contemporary as it can be and the typical design traits of the brand’s creations never point otherwise. This ethos of the Maison is perfectly encapsulated in its simplest and most affordable timepieces, the Tribute 1.
The Tribute 1 is a contemporary take on a 3-hand dress watch with an abundance of haute horlogerie elements and exquisite finishing. It is a model that incorporates the brand DNA in a minimalistic package. Now, the classical timepiece gets a contemporary reinterpretation with a dash of color, thanks to the introduction of the Tribue 1 timepiece in 4 fume dials limited to 10 pieces each. Paired with a guilloche dial, the Tribute 1 Fume marks a chromatic debut at the Dubai Watch Week 2023.
Typical Armin Strom Aesthetic in A Multi-Hued Allure
Subdued monochromatic hues have been a timeless recipe for dress watches and any asides from the aesthetic haven’t been perceived very delightfully. The Armin Strom Tribute 1 Fume however succeeds at dramatizing a classical watch while keeping it within the respectable charms of classical horological crafts, prominent with the guilloche dial plates crafted by the atelier of celebrated independent watchmaker Kari Voutilainen.
The Tribute 1 Fume is limited to 10 pieces each in ocean, slate, sky and burgundy dial colors.
A Dial That Does All the Talking
Reflections, visual depth and a three-dimensional allure highlight the business side on the Armin Strom Tribute 1 Fume. The graduating tonal shift creating a distinct vignette on the time-telling off-centered dial grants the watch a distinct appeal. Its sunray-brushed finish creates a delectable contrast with the anthracite guilloche plate.
The visible facade of the Armin Strom Tribute 1 Fume isn’t reserved for the usual dial furniture elements only. The timepiece offers an ingenious mechanical trickery to be admired from the dial side as its motor barrel held by an open finger-style bridge is proudly adorned in the second quadrant between 4 o’clock and 6 o’clock. The barrel keeps the manual-winding caliber AMW21 powered up for a whopping 100 hours.
An Engine with Beautiful Execution
The manual-winding caliber AMW21 within the Armin Strom Tribute 1 Fume is a wonderful exercise in space conservation. Within the dainty, 33.5mm x 4.2mm space, we find an ingenious motor barrel system featuring an arbor that turns around the mainspring within the barrel itself. The lavish decoration of the movement offers a pleasant view for the 40 lucky viewers to behold.
Paired with velvety-soft and supple gray alcantara calf leather straps with white stitching, the Armin Strom Tribute 1 Fume limited editions unfurl a vibrant and chromatic interpretation of a classic 3-hand dress watch, delivering a striking and spirited presence.
