Two icons of luxury craftsmanship, Girard-Perregaux and British automaker Aston Martin have combined their renowned expertise to create a groundbreaking new timepiece. The recently unveiled Neo Bridges Aston Martin Edition integrates cutting-edge mechanics, artistic design, and shared philosophies of performance.
Inspired by Aston Martin’s new DB12 luxury super tourer, the watch reflects the sportscar’s sculpted lines and engineering details like the brake calipers visible behind the wheels. Girard-Perregaux reinterpreted its iconic “bridge” watch architecture in a contemporary form with skewed Neo bridges in Aston Martin’s signature Racing Green. This dynamic framework reveals the inner workings of the watch’s inverted manual-winding movement.
The Calibre GP084000 movement on display exemplifies the collaborative process. Positioned asymmetrically, components like the mainspring barrel, micro-rotor, gear train, and balance wheel are highlighted instead of hidden from view. Angled Neo bridges support these moving parts, requiring great skill to maintain strength despite dramatic openings.
Meticulous details reference the Aston Martin connection, from the racing green accents to markings on the ring referencing minutes. The inverted movement indicates hours and minutes via skeletonized hands with green Super-LumiNova to match the automaker’s interior details. Contrasting finishes like rubies, silvery wheels, and blackened components catch the light differently. Each brand name prominently engraved onto opposing movement sides symbolizes the spirit of partnership.
Only 250 numbered editions will be produced, like Aston Martin’s rare vehicles. With its artistic design, complex mechanics, and nuanced details, the Neo Bridges Aston Martin Edition represents a shared passion for cutting-edge luxury. This extraordinary timepiece pushes the boundaries of watchmaking and design.
