Encapsulating the definite traits of a dress watch with the dressiest of all aesthetics, the latest Cartier Tank Américaine launched at Watches and Wonders 2023 offers a leaner profile and is equipped with an all-new automatic caliber.
The Cartier Tank Américaine Story
The Tank Américaine watch made its debut in 1989, drawing inspiration from the Tank Cintrée timepiece and its curvy profile case. The original Tank Américaine watch also featured the first-ever adjustable strap designed to fit the iconic folding buckle, for which Cartier had filed a patent over 70 years ago, in 1910.
Liberating The Aesthetics With Subtle Yet Impactful Nuances
For the 2023 redesign of the collection, the Maison’s design studio is enhancing the original design of the watch, emphasizing its curved shape with more refined and sportier lines. The purity of the watch’s form is further accentuated by the classic yet legible style of the dial and the seamless integration of the brancards into the extension of the strap.
The most noticeable changes come in terms of the size as the new models are thinner and slimmer than the existing line-up, making the watch even more wearable.
A Perfect Drape For Your Wrist
Among the Cartier novelties at Watches and Wonders 2023, the revisited Tank Américaine in its redundant size offerings flaunts an irresistibly dressier appeal now in better wearable proportions. The new slimmer cased Tank Américaine is equipped with the new 1899 MC movement and is available in myriad options, including all-gold and steel cases with a leather strap, rose gold and diamonds with a leather strap, or diamond-paved white and rose gold with a metal bracelet. The watch’s metal bracelet is specially designed for the Tank Américaine, with links featuring polished facets that capture and reflect light beautifully.
Although the changes are very little and even hard to notice, they do make a difference on the wrist. What the new Tank Américaine poses as is an even more elegant and dressier timepiece which many wrists will crave to adorn.
