BOVET Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary With A Reimagined Take on The 19Thirty
In 2015, BOVET introduced a timepiece that would quietly but confidently become a cornerstone of its modern collection the 19Thirty. Drawing on the brand’s deep-rooted history of crafting some of the most exquisite pocket watches of the 19th century, the 19Thirty was more than just a wristwatch. It was a tribute to a turning point in horology: the moment when timepieces moved from the pocket to the wrist. Now, a decade later, BOVET celebrates this landmark collection with a striking new release the 19Thirty 10th Anniversary Special Edition. Designed with a youthful spirit and steeped in heritage, the new timepiece represents a thoughtful evolution of an already iconic model.

The original 19Thirty was inspired by an “easel” chronometer from the 1930s a watch owned by BOVET’s custodian Mr. Pascal Raffy and one of the last pocket watches made by the Maison before wristwatches took over. With its classic five-part dial and elegant detailing, the 2015 model paid homage to this transitional era in watchmaking, when new ergonomics and functionality began to redefine what a timepiece could be. This latest edition continues that story, but with a fresh voice.
A New Era, A New Design
What sets the 10th Anniversary edition apart is its modern, minimalist design. Developed through open brainstorming across the Maison whose artisans average just 35 years of age the watch balances old-world craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics. The dial is sleeker and more refined, shedding the ornate multi-part construction of its predecessor for a look that feels lighter, younger, and distinctly current.

Despite the visual refresh, the soul of the 19Thirty remains untouched. The Fleurier case, with its unmistakable crown and bow at 12 o’clock, continues to anchor the watch’s identity. It's a silhouette that harks back more than 400 years a reminder that BOVET is perhaps the only watchmaker to adapt a true pocket-watch form into modern wristwear without compromising authenticity.
Underneath the sapphire crystal caseback lies the heartbeat of this celebratory edition: an in-house manufacture movement, hand-finished to the same standards as BOVET’s highest complications. The manually wound calibre delivers an impressive 7-day power reserve from a single barrel, all while showcasing fine artisanal finishing that echoes the brand’s rich decorative traditions. True to BOVET’s vertically integrated approach, over 95% of the movement’s components are crafted in-house at its Tramelan facility, with final assembly and testing taking place in the historic BOVET Castle in Môtiers.
A Watch for Today and Tomorrow
Available in three dial variations, the 19Thirty 10th Anniversary edition is a watch designed to bridge generations. It speaks to seasoned collectors with its attention to traditional detail, while also engaging younger enthusiasts through its pared-down aesthetic and fresh energy.
As Mr. Raffy puts it: “The 19Thirty collection has always been about honoring a pivotal moment in watchmaking history the transition from pocket to wristwatches. These new timepieces showcase BOVET’s commitment to innovation and adaptability, offering a fresh interpretation of its iconic aesthetics for a new generation of watch enthusiasts.”
The Legacy Continues
With this commemorative edition, BOVET proves once again that its greatest strength lies in its ability to evolve while staying true to its DNA. The 19Thirty 10th Anniversary Special Edition is more than a timepiece it’s a celebration of continuity, creativity, and craft. It invites the next generation into the world of haute horlogerie, all while honoring the traditions that shaped it. And just like the original 19Thirty, this new edition is destined to become a future classic — timeless in design, rich in story, and deeply BOVET.
