Breguet’s classical Reine de Naples collection is a modern icon in the world of watchmaking that has spawned a universe of its own thanks to its peculiar display of varying numerals and unique egg-shaped case. With more than 18 iterations of this contemporary timepiece, the Reine de Naples is one of the most sought after ladies watches in the world. Earlier this year, Breguet introduced one more colour to its bouquet of Reine de Naples. This time, a cool mint green shade enlivened the surface of this iconic watch giving it a fresh and breezy makeover much like the green apple coolers that quench your thirst during summer. A white mother-of-pearl dial features an hours chapter that dazzles thanks to the snow-setting used to create it. A two dimensional appearance was achieved by superimposing two shades of transferred green on the Arabic numerals that match the soothing shade of the calf-skin strap. The self winding movement fitted with 537/3 calibre provides a power reserve of 45 hours. The sapphire caseback reveals the inner artistry of this captivating timepiece ensuring that no matter what angle you look at this timepiece from, it’s surely impressive!
A deep raspberry red Reine de Naples was chosen to celebrate the day of love marking a bold step for the brand. The shiny red alligator leather strap is similar to a cone of berry flavoured ice cream consumed to beat the heat and features all the signature Breguet elements from the egg-shaped 18k white gold case to the fine fluting on the caseband which follows the contours of the oval shape that is wider at the bottom and narrower at the top. The crown, placed at 4 o’clock was positioned in such a way so as not to interfere with the oval case shape and is set with a bright red cabochon-cut ruby while the distinctive round-shaped attachment covering the strap at 6 o’clock is set with diamonds. Underscoring the tapering egg-shaped case, the 45 hand-set diamonds in the bezel follow the contours as red heart shaped hour markers complete the timepiece.
Boasting a ladylike and refined visual harmony with its rose gold case, this iteration of the Reine de Naples wristwatch is as feminine as it gets. The light and airy pink leather strap mimics the cherry blossom flowers that bloom across the city announcing the arrival of summer. The dial is a light pink shade and is made of “Grand feu” enamel in line with true watchmaking tradition. The off-centre hour circle features a pear-shaped diamond at 6 o’clock, adding elegance to the timepiece. A zesty orange alligator strap with gold triple blade folding clasp set with 28 diamonds weighing approximately 0.16 ct is akin to a refreshing orange candy popsicle to chill your body from the harsh sunshine. The Bezel, dial flange and lug set are embedded with 161 diamonds, approx. 1.82ct and not to forget, the gold dial is snow set with 384 diamonds which totals to approx. 0.89 ct. it also features an off-centred chapter ring in mother-of-pearl with Breguet Arabic numerals. For those that need any excuse to run to the beach, the same watch specification is available in a pleasing sea blue shade as well. The colour illustrates long sunny days spent along the sea shore reflecting the feeling of infinity that the summer season brings.
