Cannes 2025: It's Game-Set-Match For Jaeger-LeCoultre On The Red Carpet
Who can make a sling look sexy? The one and only Benedict Cumberbatch!
Cumberbatch looked dapper in his red carpet appearance at Festival de Cannes 2025. Wearing a Prada black grain de poudre tuxedo with a white poplin shirt and black satin bow tie, he was seen sporting a sling on his left arm. While we are sorry that he has hurt his arm, we are making the most of the opportunity that the sling is giving us to admire his choice of timepiece for the red carpet.
His black sling in silk, which was secured with a custom brooch, held up the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Date in all its glory, as Cumberbatch made his way to the premier of ‘The Phoenician Scheme’ at the Cannes festival.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Date is a refined timepiece that exemplifies the brand's commitment to elegance and precision. Housed in a 39mm stainless steel case with a thickness of just 7.8mm, it offers a sleek profile suitable for formal occasions. The sunray-brushed blue-grey dial features elongated trapezoidal hour markers and Dauphine hands, providing excellent legibility. A date aperture is positioned at 6 o'clock, maintaining the dial's symmetry.
At its heart lies the in-house calibre 899 automatic movement, visible through a transparent sapphire case back. This movement boasts a 38-hour power reserve and is adorned with Côtes de Genève, bevelled edges and blued screws, reflecting Jaeger-LeCoultre's meticulous craftsmanship. The watch is paired with a black alligator leather strap, secured by a stainless steel folding buckle, and offers water resistance up to 5 bar.
The Master Ultra Thin Date is not only a testament to Jaeger-LeCoultre's heritage in crafting ultra-thin watches but also a versatile accessory that complements both business attire and evening wear.

Filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan - A Tribute to Creativity
When the cast and team of the Indian movie 'Homebound' made a splash on the red carpet, amidst the starry smiles of Jahnvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar, what stood out the most was the timepiece worn by filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan – the Reverso Tribute Geographic by Jaeger-LeCoultre. It is a luxury dual-face watch that blends sleek design with world time detail. Limited edition of 150 pieces, it is available in steel or pink gold, it runs on the new Calibre 834 and features a big date, rotating 24-hour ring and a laser-engraved world map. Laurent Lafitte Doubles Down on Reverso Glamour
French actor and director Laurent Lafitte didn’t just bring charisma to the Cannes Film Festival this year — he also brought serious wrist game. During a press conference, he was seen wearing the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Small Seconds in 18k pink gold.

The refined Art Deco silhouette of the Reverso looked effortlessly elegant, setting the tone for what was to come.
Then, the very next day, Lafitte returned to the spotlight as the master of ceremony for the festival’s opening, and guess what? He rocked the stunning Reverso again – this time with a leather strap.
A new interpretation of the Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds, it comes with just the right touch of vintage flair. Powered by Jaeger-LeCoultre’s hand-wound Calibre 822, the watch stays true to its roots — a nod to the original Reverso from 1931 — while adding a fresh, modern spin. The black dial, which Jaeger-LeCoultre once called ‘the dial of the future,’ adds bold contrast and superb legibility, all wrapped up in classic Art Deco elegance.
