Cannes 2025: Quentin Tarantino Attends The Opening Ceremony Wears Chopard L.U.C XPS Azur
From his flamboyant announcement at the opening ceremony of Festival de Cannes 2025 to his mic drop moment to his faux march, off the stage, Hollywood’s maverick directing genius Quentin Tarantino wowed the audience with his style. Not only did he own the stage, he also had a picture-perfect moment with his wife Daniella Pick on the red carpet. Tarantino was photographed by the paparazzi wearing the Chopard L.U.C XPS Azur – a limited edition masterpiece. Wearing one of the 10 rare pieces ever made, Tarantino sported the azure blue dial with panache. Chopard has been a partner of Festival de Cannes since 1998, so a glimpse of the beautiful French Riviera in one of its most prized creations was a natural progression.
Powered by Chopard's ultra-thin Caliber 96.01-L, this timepiece is a testament to haute horlogerie, with the chronometer certification from Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) and the prestigious Poinçon de Genève hallmark. At the heart of the dial, a delicate guilloché pattern unfurls like a blossoming flower, its radiance enhanced by a sun-kissed satin glow. Baguette-cut diamond hour markers elegantly allow the small seconds and date to play the field at 6 o’clock. Encased within a refined 40 mm white gold frame, this quiet marvel lets time take centrestage, whispered gently through an artistry that speaks louder than words.
Daniella opted for Chopard diamonds to add to her charm on the red carpet. Featuring a pair of danglers, bracelets and rings that echoed the accents of her shimmery evening gown, she dazzled next to Tarantino.

The Chinese Zodiac
Another Chopard made its appearance on the wrist of the ‘Mission: Impossible The Final Reckoning’ actor Greg Tarzan Davis. Dressed in a Dior bar coat and white trousers, Davis accessorised his red carpet look with a Boucheron clip double plumes, featuring yellow and rose golds, platinum, rubies and diamonds, and the L.U.C XP Urushi Spirit of Shí Chen.
Blending high watchmaking with ancient Chinese tradition, the L.U.C XP Urushi Spirit of Shí Chen is a bold tribute to cultural heritage and craftsmanship. Limited to just 88 pieces, this 40 mm stunner features an ultra-thin case in ethical 18-carat rose gold and a dial hand-crafted in Japan using the centuries-old Urushi lacquer technique. At its heart is a rotating disk that showcases the 12 Chinese zodiac signs, anchored by the symbol of prosperity and the god Lu Xing—bringing luck and meaning to every hour. Powered by the finely crafted L.U.C 96.29-L movement, this timepiece isn’t just rare—it’s a wearable work of art.
As Davis joined the rest of the cast of ‘Mission: Impossible The Final Reckoning,’ which premiered at the Festival de Cannes and received a five-minute standing ovation, he stood out on the red steps with his smart ensemble and sharp look.
