The Tank Américaine watch made its debut in 1989, drawing inspiration from the Tank Cintrée timepiece and its curvy profile case. The original Tank Américaine watch also featured the first-ever adjustable strap designed to fit the iconic folding buckle, for which Cartier had filed a patent over 70 years ago, in 1910.

For the 2023 redesign of the collection, the Maison's design studio is enhancing the original design of the watch, emphasizing its curved shape with more refined and sportier lines. The purity of the watch's form is further accentuated by the classic yet legible style of the dial and the seamless integration of the brancards into the extension of the strap.
The most noticeable changes come in terms of the size as the new models are thinner and slimmer than the existing line-up, making the watch even more wearable.

The new slimmer cased Tank Américaine is equipped with the new 1899 MC movement and is available in myriad options, including all-gold and steel cases with a leather strap, rose gold and diamonds with a leather strap, or diamond-paved white and rose gold with a metal bracelet. The watch's metal bracelet is specially designed for the Tank Américaine, with links featuring polished facets that capture and reflect light beautifully.
