Favre Leuba And Jean-François Mojon Come Together For A Tourbillon
Favre Leuba has turned a new page in its legacy with the launch of its first-ever tourbillon: the Chief Tourbillon. This milestone timepiece, developed in collaboration with master watchmaker Jean-François Mojon, encapsulates the brand's renewed vision of innovation and heritage. Limited to just 25 pieces, the Chief Tourbillon stands as a testament to Favre Leuba’s resurgence—an era of bold design, technical ingenuity, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
2024 marked the rebirth of Favre Leuba, bringing fresh energy under the leadership of Patrik Hoffmann, former CEO of Ulysse Nardin and Vice President of Watchbox Switzerland. With a revitalized identity, the brand restructured its collection around three key pillars—Chief, Sea Sky, and Deep Blue—offering meticulously crafted timepieces that balance heritage with modernity. Now, in 2025, the introduction of the Chief Tourbillon cements Favre Leuba’s return to the forefront of fine watchmaking.

A Dial That Tells a Story
"A timepiece reveals its character through its dial," says CEO Patrik Hoffmann. The Chief Tourbillon’s dial does just that—boldly celebrating this historic moment. Designed exclusively for this model, the embossed Hourglass emblem takes center stage, representing the brand’s past, present, and future in a mesmerizing three-dimensional pattern.
Breaking away from convention, the intricate triangular motifs span three distinct tiers, each reflecting light uniquely. Sunburst-finished triangles rise above the dial, while matte-finished elements recede below, creating a hypnotic interplay of depth and texture. The result? A dial that changes with every glance, offering a visual spectacle unlike any other. Crafted with precision, the embossed pattern undergoes multiple stamping processes, ensuring a refined and layered effect. This meticulous attention to detail transforms the Chief Tourbillon’s face into more than just a dial—it becomes a dynamic piece of art.
The Heart of the Chief Tourbillon: FL T01 Movement by Chronode
At its core, the Chief Tourbillon is powered by the FL T01 movement, based on the Chronode C502 caliber—meticulously reimagined by Jean-François Mojon. A master of movement architecture, Mojon has worked with some of the most prestigious names in haute horlogerie, including MB&F, Czapek, and Hermès.

His expertise shines through in the Chief Tourbillon. The upper bridge of the tourbillon cage subtly echoes Favre Leuba’s hourglass emblem, seamlessly integrating brand identity into the movement’s very design. The tourbillon itself, with a generous 14.85mm diameter, offers a captivating view of its precision mechanics in motion. The finishing is exquisite: a horizontally brushed top surface on the tourbillon bridge, parallel to the 3 o’clock–9 o’clock axis, while the outer edge, housing the seconds track, features a circular-grain texture. On the caseback, a spiral-relief hourglass motif set against a laser-engraved background adds another layer of elegance. Blue screws—an ode to the brand’s deep-rooted watchmaking traditions—further accentuate the movement’s craftsmanship.
Expanding the Chief Collection
"The Chief collection is the foundation of Favre Leuba’s revival," states Patrik Hoffmann. "Its cambered cushion case design set the tone, but with the Chief Tourbillon, we elevate our ambitions. It represents our technical and aesthetic prowess at an unparalleled price point for this level of craftsmanship."

Jean-François Mojon echoes this sentiment: "Favre Leuba has long been one of the most storied names in Swiss watchmaking. To contribute to this new chapter is an honor."
The Chief Tourbillon embodies everything Favre Leuba stands for—precision, heritage, and bold innovation. Limited to just 25 pieces, this exceptional timepiece offers an extraordinary level of haute horlogerie. With this groundbreaking release, Favre Leuba’s resurgence isn’t just a revival—it’s a revolution.
