Geneva Watch Days 2025: Gerald Charles Unveils Triple Haute Joaillerie Masterlink
At Geneva Watch Days 2025, Gerald Charles reintroduces one of Gérald Genta’s final creations, the Masterlink Gem-Set, a design originally commissioned for a royal family in Sarawak. Defined by its asymmetrical architecture, the watch pairs a case with a bracelet that echoes its lines. It features flat links at 12 o’clock and curved links at 6 o’clock making for an unconventional touch that set it apart. The new Masterlink Gem-Set embraces this spirit with vibrant choices in blue sapphire, ruby, or tsavorite, set within a stainless-steel case topped by a gem-set white gold bezel.

The dial continues the gemstone story, in vibrant shades of blue, red and green featuring matching hour markers on a two-layered construction with vertical cut-outs that create striking depth. A limited edition of 10 pieces in each variant this is a dazzling tribute to Gerald Charles’ legacy, this edition showcases a white gold bezel set with 60 custom-cut blue baguette sapphires. Their deep, vivid hue contrasts against the silver double-layered dial, distinguished by vertical stripes and enriched with 13 blue sapphire indexes.

The proportions are carefully refined: at 38 mm wide and just 7.99 mm thick, the watch achieves a rare balance of flatness and presence, standing out in a category often dominated by bulkier designs. Beneath the elegance lies a high-end micro-rotor movement crafted by Vaucher, based on the VMF 5400 that powers the Parmigiani Tonda PF, but with bespoke finishing reserved for Gerald Charles.
The bracelet's links are held together by a hidden construction, visible only on the back of the watch with the aid of a magnifying glass. The butterfly-type clasp is also concealed, and its metal components are designed for comfort on the wrist and softness to the touch. In the same vein, the push-pieces to open it are discreetly nestled within, ensuring the design’s fluidity sweeps smoothly over the unified case and bracelet. The result is a watch that blends Genta’s legacy of playful geometry with contemporary haute joaillerie flair.
