Geneva Watch Days 2024: Left Hander’s Finally Get Representation With Doxa’s SUB 300T Aristera
If you are a left hander, have you ever felt frustrated while adjusting your watch? Do you feel like a neglected younger sibling when you see right handers effortlessly set the time on their watches while you struggle with the same? Well, fret not. Doxa sympathizes with you and has launched a new watch exclusively for left handers. The new SUB 300T Professional Aristera launching at Geneva Watch Days 2024 is the brand’s first automatic dive watch with a crown positioned on the left side of the case.
The name itself conveys the watch’s uniqueness- Aristera meaning ‘left’ in Greek, echoing the origins of the brand’s own name- Doxa which is the Greek word for ‘Glory’. While this inverted configuration, frequently referred to as a ‘lefty’–because it is specifically designed for left-handed watch wearers–is not a rarity, it is nonetheless uncommon in the marketplace, even more so in the diving watch universe. While the crown has moved to 9 o’clock, the date window on the SUB 300T Professional Aristera remains at 3 o'clock. To achieve this, the movement had to be rotated 180 degrees inside the case.
The SUB 300T Aristera features a bezel with an aluminum insert, paying homage to a design introduced by the Aubry Frèresin the 1980s. The choice of metal lends a subtle, elegant matte silver hue. The case itself is carved from a solid block of 316L stainless steel, known for its exceptional corrosion resistance. Under the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, all dive-related indications are coated with Super-LumiNova® luminescent material, ensuring excellent readability under low-light conditions and during limited visibility dives. The power source is a Swiss automatic movement with exclusive DOXA decorations, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), and ensuring a comfortable power reserve of about 38hours. The entire watch is water-resistant to 1,200 meters (approximately4000 feet), allowing for safe deep-sea exploration.
The SUB 300T Professional Aristera is available exclusively with the DOXA SUB’s iconic orange dial, further enhancing its pedigree. This model comes with both the legendary ‘beads of rice’ stainless steel bracelet to match the case, and a lighter-weight, more casual NATO-style strap. The bracelet and the strap feature respectively a folding clasp with ratcheting wetsuit extension and a pin buckle. On the caseback, an engraving of a sailing vessel, its sails full in reverse relief as a nod to left-handed users–along with the inscription ‘Limited EditionXXX/300.’
This 42.50 mm diameter watch, worn on land or at sea, maintains its reputation as a timepiece for travelers, adventurers, and globetrotters be it left or right-handed, but always sure-handed.

When DOXA first introduced the vibrant 'Sea Emerald' green hue at Geneva Watch Week last March, it was intended exclusively for the SUB 200T collection. Today, just a few months later and as a result of its overwhelming success, DOXA announced at Geneva Watch Days 2024 that 'Sea Emerald' has become the 8th official colour in the SUB family. This stunning shade will now be available across five key collections: SUB 200, SUB 300T, SUB300, SUB 600T, and SUB 300 Carbon.
