Encased in an 18-carat pink gold case, the Master Grande Tradition Calibre 948 is a true embodiment of horological artistry. Its multi-layered dial, measuring a mere 25.5mm in diameter, is a remarkable work of art in miniature. The continents are intricately cut from a fine plate of 18-carat gold and adorned with champlevé enamel, displaying a level of precision that defies imagination.
Beneath this domed structure, representing the oceans, lies a dial plate decorated with a blue-green translucent lacquer applied over a wavy guilloché pattern, subtly suggesting the movement of the sea. Adding to the visual depth and complexity, a green opaline ring encircles the central dial, denoting the time zones with the names of cities.

A Celestial Dance of Time
At the heart of this horological marvel beats Calibre 948, a masterpiece of engineering and innovation. This automatic movement, comprising 388 components, is an eloquent expression of Jaeger-LeCoultre's technical expertise, having been conceived, developed, and entirely produced within the Manufacture.

In a remarkable feat of watchmaking, Jaeger-LeCoultre has united a world-time complication with a flying tourbillon, the latter appearing to float weightlessly above the oceans, spinning in 60 seconds. As the tourbillon makes a complete 360-degree revolution of the dial in 24 hours, the domed map and the city ring turn in unison, mimicking the rotation of Earth on its axis, ensuring that the right time in every city is always indicated by the hour marked adjacent to the city name.

A Harmonious Blend of Innovation and Tradition

The Master Grande Tradition Calibre 948 is a true embodiment of Jaeger-LeCoultre's commitment to uniting artistic creativity with sophisticated mechanics. With its magnificent green dial and exceptional technical prowess, this timepiece stands as a testament to the Maison's unwavering dedication to maintaining the fine balance between the spirit of innovation and a profound respect for tradition.

As the world marvels at this horological masterpiece, Jaeger-LeCoultre once again demonstrates its ability to push the boundaries of watchmaking, creating timepieces that transcend mere timekeeping and become works of art that captivate the senses and inspire the soul.
