Rolex Celebrates 25 Years As The Official Timepiece Of The Goodwood Revival
Rolex will mark its 25th year as the Official Timepiece and Title Sponsor of the Goodwood Revival, the annual vintage motor racing event held at the Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex, England. This year's edition takes place from September 8-10 and will celebrate the event's silver anniversary.
The Goodwood Revival recreates the golden age of racing at the circuit from 1948 to 1966. Rolex has supported the event since 2004 for its dedication to preserving automotive history and honoring legendary drivers who competed at Goodwood during its heyday.
Longstanding Rolex ambassador Sir Jackie Stewart will return to Goodwood, where the three-time Formula One champion first visited at age 14, calling it a "special place" that changed his life. Other Rolex drivers competing include Tom Kristensen, Mark Webber, and Jenson Button.
Goodwood will pay tribute to the 100th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, which Rolex has sponsored since 2001. A new Rudge-Whitworth Cup will feature early Le Mans sports cars like Alfa Romeos and Bugattis. The event will also honor Carroll Shelby and the 1966 Le Mans-winning Ford GT40 team.
In a first, the Revival will host a 100% sustainably fueled race, the Fordwater Trophy, with Mark Webber racing a vintage Porsche 911. Off track, the Revive & Thrive area will bring together craftspeople dedicated to preserving fashion and items for continued use.
Over 150,000 fans are expected to experience the vintage atmosphere and celebrate the ongoing legacy of Goodwood's pioneering era on modern motoring. Rolex's 90+ year association with racing continues its commitment to sharing expertise for future generations.
