TAG Heuer’s First Aqua-Racer Professional 200 In Full Gold
TAG Heuer at Watches And Wonders 2023, is setting a new gold standard! The new manufacture Calibre TH31-00 from TAG Heuer powers the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200, a pair of solid 18-karat-gold watches that come with an 80-hour power reserve and a five-year extended warranty.
The Swiss brand's family of high-functioning, portable luxury tool watches just got a striking, high-end update with the addition of these two new references. These new TAG Heuer Aquaracer models are the first of their kind to feature all-solid-gold construction.
The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 is a new pair of 40mm 18k gold watches released this year. Both will be made entirely of precious metals, but one will feature a rose gold case and bezel crafted from 18K 5N and the other from 18K 3N gold.
Both TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 models have gorgeous gradient dials, adding to the extreme opulence of their solid 18-karat gold cases. The rose gold version features a black dial that gracefully transitions into a grey hued with bronze. The yellow-gold model's blue central dial shimmers like the light seen upon emerging from a cavern at depth.
Hour markers on both dials are filled with high-quality Super- LumiNova® to ensure legible readings even in the dark. The central "lollipop" section of the seconds hand, along with the hour and minute hands, are all filled with high-quality Super-LumiNova®. The black or blue rubber straps complement the 18k gold cases and the black DLC-coated Grade 2 titanium clasps.
The new 80-hour manufacture Calibre TH31-00 is introduced
Both the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 and the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200M contain a brand-new automatic manufacture movement developed in accordance with the standards of fine mechanical watchmaking.
TAG Heuer and AMT, a prestigious Swiss movement manufacturer located in La Chaux-de-Fonds, collaborated to create the Calibre TH31-00. This high-performance movement is made and assembled by AMT specifically for TAG Heuer.
Neither of these examples is a classic timepiece; rather, they are both contemporary sports watches made for a life of exploration in the great outdoors. Both have sapphire crystal casebacks that provide a glimpse into the new movement and a lightweight, black DLC-coated Grade 2 titanium case, both of which are clear indicators of the watches' sporty nature. Both timepieces can withstand water depths of up to 200 metres.
The new models all take cues from TAG Heuer's established Aquaracer Professional line. The TAG Heuer Aquaracer, in development for over forty years, is a high-end tool watch designed for daring explorers of the great outdoors.
There are many advantages to the Calibre TH31-00: Accurate to within four or six seconds per day, as required for chronometer certification. In addition, its 80-hour power reserve is the highest of any TAG Heuer Aquaracer with a mechanical movement. It adds time and date capabilities to the wristwatch.
It's also expertly completed. As a representation of the high-end watchmaking principles that went into creating this unique movement, the bridges of the 30-jewel mechanism are decorated with a traditional Côtes de Genève finish. The rotor, or swinging weight, has been updated with a look that recalls the iconic TAG Heuer logo.
Because of how well it performed in tests, TAG Heuer is willing to extend the warranty on watches powered by the Calibre TH31-00 by five years.
Along with the Calibre TH30-00, which debuted in the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver last year and is also backed by a five-year warranty, the Calibre TH31-00 is the latest in a line of high-quality automatic movements developed under TAG Heuer's esteemed Movements Director, Carole Forestier.
CONTINUING THE TRADITION: Six distinguishing characteristics of the classic TAG Heuer Aquaracer
While these new models are a significant improvement over their predecessors, they remain faithful to the TAG Heuer Aquaracer's original design principles and functional guarantees made in the 1980s.
A unidirectional rotating bezel, screw-down crown, water resistance of at least 200 metres, luminous markings, a sapphire crystal, and a double safety clasp were all part of the original plan for all TAG Heuer Aquaracer models, and they remain standard features today. TAG Heuer Aquaracer owners have come to rely on these features because of how practical and trustworthy they are.
TAG Heuer's Aquaracer Professional 200 models, introduced after the brand's relaunch two years ago, are also part of the ongoing saga of the current generation. They share the same streamlined case, instantly recognisable 12-sided unidirectional rotating bezel with alternating fluted edges for grip and ease of use, recognisable horizontal lines across the dial, and secure crown.
TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional is a fully formed collection of high-performance sports watches, two years after its rebirth and the introduction of the core collection TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 models. It is the epitome of the modern luxury adventurer; sophisticated, stylish, athletic, and well-equipped for life on the edge.
