The 'owl ship' from Watchmen, gleaming like Padme Amidala's J-type 327 and equipped with two enormous round eye-like windows like Archie's J-type 327. Like a Klingon Bird of Prey, streamlined. Grooved like the Battlestar Galactica's hull.
The UR-112 Aggregat Odyssey is a limited-edition ship from the URWERK shipyard with an unlimited number of flat, curved, grooved, sculpted, screwed, and bonded surfaces, all with advanced finishes that alternate between matt and glossy, sandblasted and polished. This tedious, precise work contributes to the enhancement of the two enormous cockpits, equivalent to two advanced observation posts, where the rotating prisms expressing the UR-112's unique characteristic operate.
The successor of the UR-112 Aggregat Bicolor is the UR-112 Aggregat Odyssey. This wrist spacecraft's upper portion is perfect for polishing. The secondary power reserve and digital seconds indications are accessible through the grooved steel cover, which opens vertically. It has a bead-blasted edge and is mirror-polished on top. Satin-brushed, grooved, sandblasted, and bead-blasted, the core titanium body forms a field of functional microdots. The UR-112 Odyssey's two steel wings fit into this central body.
Digital Sequence
The UR-112 is part of the Special Projects category of products. This is a radical shift from URWERK's original concept of wandering-hour indication on a massive scale. There are no cubes, no carousel with arms, and no 120-degree sector-type indication, as there have been on so many previous URWERK models over the last 25 years. On prisms, the UR-112 Aggregat Odyssey shows jumping hours and trailing minutes.
They are visible in their huge sapphire crystal housings, which have been shifted to the front of the watch. An additional trailing indicator shows the precise minutes when the hours jump on one side and the minutes progress in five-minute increments on the other.
The Reactor's Heart
The UR-13.01 caliber's driving and regulating components are housed in the case's central body: a big barrel with a 48-hour power reserve and an automatic-winding rotor.The power-reserve indicator and the magnificent little seconds are revealed by pressing the two pushers on the sides of the watch. A skeletonized silicon disc is joined to a red anodized aluminium bridge in the latter, which is a classic URWERK design feature.
Spatio-Temporal Module
In the centre of this magnificent vessel, a long, thin rod stands out. It is possibly the longest component in modern watchmaking, measuring several centimetres in length. This cardan shaft is composed of titanium to ensure its lightness and rigidity, and it ensures the coupling with the display module, which is placed at the front of the shell. It does this with a novel gear sequence that drives the hours and minutes prisms via two 90° bevel gears.
The Super-LumiNovaTM-enhanced black aluminium prisms with grooved sides are secured by planetary mechanisms that ensure they revolve both on their axis and in space. This kinematic technique necessitates extreme precision and contributes to the UR-112 Aggregat Odyssey's completely unique and unorthodox appearance.
