The story of Titan Company Limited begins in 1984, marking a pivotal moment in Indian manufacturing history. Born as a joint venture between the prestigious Tata Group and the Tamilnadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO), Titan emerged with a clear vision: to revolutionize the Indian watch industry. The company commenced operations in 1987 under the name Titan Watches Limited, and what followed was a remarkable journey of transformation and diversification. Over the decades, Titan expanded far beyond its initial focus on watches. In 1994, the company ventured into jewelry with the launch of Tanishq, followed by a successful expansion into eyewear. The company's growth story continued with the introduction of fragrances under the SKINN brand, accessories and Indian dress wear through Taneira, and thoughtfully designed women's bags under the IRTH label. This evolution transformed Titan from a watch manufacturer into a lifestyle brand powerhouse that has shaped India's retail landscape through pioneering experiential retail.

Now, Titan celebrates 40 years of excellence with its most ambitious achievement yet – the launch of India's first Flying Tourbillon watch, alongside a specially curated anniversary collection that pays homage to its rich heritage while embracing the future of watchmaking.

The Crowning Achievement: India's First Flying Tourbillon
The centerpiece of Titan's 40th-anniversary celebration is their groundbreaking Flying Tourbillon watch, featuring the innovative 7TH1 Calibre (1984GL01). This masterpiece, developed entirely in-house, represents a watershed moment in Indian watchmaking history. The movement features a flying tourbillon bridge ingeniously designed in the shape of a "T" – an elegant tribute to the Titan brand – positioned at 6 o'clock, which also serves as the Petite Seconds hand.

The technical sophistication of this timepiece is evident in its 4 Hz frequency movement and 36-hour power reserve, all housed within an exquisite 44mm 18K rose gold case. The movement's decoration showcases traditional watchmaking finishes including Perlage, Côte de Genève, Spiral Satin, and Circular Satin, demonstrating Titan's mastery of classical horological arts.

The dial exemplifies fine craftsmanship with two hand-crafted Guilloché patterns: the peacock blue sub-dial features a distinctive "flinque" guilloche pattern, while the main dial showcases an elegant "grain of rice" pattern. Through the sapphire glass exhibition caseback, owners can admire the beautifully finished movement, complete with individual numbering and a proud "INDIA" designation marking its origin. This extraordinary timepiece is offered at INR 26,00,000.

The Commemorative Collection: A Tribute to Legacy
The anniversary collection continues with the Classique Case Series, available in both 40mm (10030WL01) and 34mm (2755WL01) sizes. These watches honor Titan's original bestselling designs, featuring rose-gold accents against silver-white lacquered dials. Crafted from surgical grade stainless steel, each watch includes a sapphire crystal with triple anti-reflective coating and bears the original 'Tau' Titan logo. The series, powered by the in-house P3H Quartz movement, is limited to 1,000 numbered pieces and priced at INR 24,995 and INR 21,995 respectively.
