In a key leadership announcement, the Board of Directors of Titan Company Limited has approved a succession plan for the role of Managing Director. C.K. Venkataraman (commonly known as Venkat), the current Managing Director, will retire from his position on December 31, 2025, upon reaching the superannuation age, in accordance with the Tata Group's retirement policy. Venkat has been an integral part of Titan since 1990 and has served as Managing Director since October 1, 2019.

Taking over the reins from him will be Ajoy Chawla, who currently serves as the CEO of the Company's Jewellery Division. He will step into the role of Managing Director effective January 1, 2026. Ajoy’s academic foundation includes a degree in Mechanical Engineering from VJTI, Mumbai, followed by a PGDM from IIM-Calcutta. He joined the Tata Administrative Services (TAS) in 1990 and began his journey with Titan in the Finance department in 1991. Over the following two decades, he held a wide spectrum of roles within the Watches Division—across functions such as Commercial, Sales, Retail, Supply Chain, SAP deployment, and brand leadership. He also helmed the Accessories and Licensed Brands business as SBU Head and later led the Titan SBU for both domestic and international markets.

From 2013 to 2019, Ajoy took on the role of Chief Strategy Officer, simultaneously overseeing Business Incubation. During this period, he was instrumental in scaling up Titan’s Fragrances vertical and laying the foundation for Taneira, the company’s ethnic wear brand.

Since October 2019, Ajoy has led Titan’s Jewellery Division as CEO. Under his stewardship, the division has achieved 2.5 times growth in both revenue and profitability, while solidifying its market dominance and thought leadership. The formal process to induct Ajoy into the Company’s Board and confirm his appointment as Managing Director is underway and will be subject to shareholder approval. Titan will announce Ajoy’s successor in the Jewellery Division at a later stage.

Sharing his thoughts on the leadership transition, C.K. Venkataraman said: "On behalf of the entire Titan team, I welcome Ajoy to lead Titan in its next phase of innovation and growth. With his strong customer obsession, people orientation, partnering impulse and focus on creating value, Ajoy is well qualified to shepherd Titan towards even greater glory and scale.”
