Introducing A Triangular Setting In Gold And Diamond Versions
The Coussin de Cartier watch is mostly a square bordered with spiral diamonds. Everything is contained within the cushioned shape of the case, which is embellished with stones of various diameters that highlight the movement, as well as bold and graphic gold edges that emphasise its attractiveness. This aesthetic effect is the result of the Maison's expertise. The Cartier Manufacture's research and innovation laboratory has created two limited editions of the Coussin de Cartier watch. A creative team created a soft, flexible case totally paved with diamonds or coloured stones such as emeralds, tourmalines, tsavorites, and sapphires.
Cartier has incorporated an inventive element into a delicate timepiece made up of gold links that interweave to construct a grid pattern. The case will bend and return to its original shape as a result of this. The enormous range of diameters and stone colours, which is unprecedented at Cartier, makes this process even more complex. The fact that the watch is flexible adds to the complexity of this procedure, as it requires the watchmaker to seal it with resin before releasing it.
