To celebrate 270 years of uninterrupted excellence, the Maison is unveiling three dazzling new additions to its Traditionnelle Openface collection, each a masterpiece of mechanical artistry. Openworked dials, retrograde displays, and platinum cases come together in a fusion of heritage and innovation, proving that tradition and modernity can not only coexist but thrive. Whether it’s the technical wizardry of the perpetual calendar, the mesmerizing dance of the tourbillon, or the refined complexity of the complete calendar, these 370-piece limited editions are a collector’s dream. With intricate craftsmanship, avant-garde design, and a deep connection to Vacheron Constantin’s legendary past, these watches don’t just mark time, they celebrate it.

Mechanical Sophistication and Refined Craftsmanship

By openworking the dials of these three new anniversary editions, Vacheron Constantin reveals the intricate beauty of their movements. Each watch is housed in a 950 platinum case with classic Traditionnelle elements: stepped lugs, a fluted caseback, and a slender bezel. The railway-type minute track, faceted Dauphine hands, and applied gold baton hour markers reflect the Maison’s dedication to timeless design.

The Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Retrograde Date Openface is powered by the self-winding Calibre 2460 QPR31/270, featuring a perpetual calendar that remains accurate until 2100. The moon-phase complication, requiring adjustment only once every 122 years, adds a celestial dimension. The sapphire discs for the day, month, and leap-year indications are set against a striking deep blue background, enhancing readability and elegance.

The Traditionnelle Tourbillon Retrograde Date Openface is driven by the Calibre 2162 R31/270, a 242-component movement with a 72-hour power reserve. Measuring just 6.35 mm thick, thanks to its peripheral gold oscillating weight, it combines a tourbillon at 6 o’clock with a retrograde date complication, showcasing its complexity through the openworked dial.

The Traditionnelle Complete Calendar Openface is powered by the self-winding Calibre 2460 QCL/270, a modernized version of the Maison’s first in-house automatic complete calendar movement. Displaying the day, date, and month via sapphire discs, it also features a moon-phase indicator requiring minimal adjustment. The peripherally positioned date, marked with a blued hand, ensures exceptional legibility.

Excellence in Every Detail

Each limited edition features a meticulously crafted openworked dial with a hand-guilloché pattern inspired by the Maltese cross, Vacheron Constantin’s emblem since 1880. This intricate decoration recalls the Reference 6068, launched in 1955 for the Maison’s bicentenary. The exposed movements display the ‘côte unique’ finishing, a rare traditional technique rediscovered in 2021. This elaborate process, requiring over 500 hours to master, creates a seamless visual effect across the bridges, demonstrating the Maison’s unwavering commitment to artisanal excellence.

The finishing touches include a large, square-scaled hand-sewn alligator leather strap with tone-on-tone saddle stitching, complemented by a platinum pin buckle shaped as a half Maltese cross. Through these anniversary editions, Vacheron Constantin not only honors its rich heritage but also reaffirms its place at the pinnacle of haute horlogerie, seamlessly blending tradition and innovation.
