Watches and Wonders 2024: Alpina Introduces The Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic And GMT Watches
In a surprise release at the Watches and Wonders 2024, Alpina marries its iconic Extreme case with its dive watch line, the Seastrong collection. The resulting opus is realized in two iterations: the Diver Extreme Automatic and the travel-friendly Diver Extreme Automatic GMT. Both watches feature a more-than-required 300 meters of water resistance and are given a choice of color variations for their straps and dials.
A Matching Case Construction
Alpina’s Extreme case makes a common appearance in both the Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic and the Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic GMT models. Its angular bold cushion case aesthetic is realized in a 39 x 40.50 mm diameter. Its three-part construction yields a total height of less than 13mm (12.65 mm for the Automatic and 12.8mm for the GMT). The case features a mix of polished and brushed surfaces to create a dynamic surface contrast.

The ocean friendly iteration of the newly released aesthetic at Alpina features an Extreme case pairing with an anthracite dial embossed with triangular pattern. Maintaining the marine utility of the piece is the ISO 6425 certification for dive watch granted to this piece which packs in 300 meters of water resistance. The ceramic bezel offers unidirectional rotation and features a raised lettering scale. The applied silver color indexes filled with white luminous treatment give it a dive-friendly aesthetic. The hand-polished silver color hour and minute hands are also filled with white luminous material for low-light legibility.
The timepiece featuring the automatic AL-525 movement gets a power reserve of 38 hours and is presented in three iterations, a gray dial variant with an integrated steel bracelet, a navy blue dial with matching strap and a black dial with a contrast orange strap and dial flange.
