Watches and Wonders 2024: Alpina’s Alpiner Extreme Line Gets A Quartz Caliber For The Very First Time
At Watches and Wonders 2024, Alpina has unveiled the Alpiner Extreme Quartz, targeting adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts. This release includes a more compact version with four vibrant dial colors and a high-precision quartz movement.
The 34mm cushion-shaped steel case is designed for both men and women, with dial options in rock beige, lustrous pink, glacier blue and verdant green. The rock beige, lustrous pink and glacier blue options come with a steel bracelet, while the green dial variant is paired with a matching rubber strap.
The new Alpiner Extreme Quartz features a smaller 34 x 35.2mm steel case, replacing the previous 41 x 42.5mm size, making it more versatile for all wrist sizes and suitable for a more urban look. It also introduces a new quartz movement, the AL-220 caliber, offering accuracy for up to 45 months, a first for the Alpiner Extreme line, which previously featured only automatic movements.
The Alpiner Extreme Quartz exudes a spirit of adventure, yet its refined soul whispers of its Swiss heritage. The case gleams with a timeless dance of polished and satin finishes, each surface catching the light in a captivating way. The bezel, like the central link of its steel strap, boasts a purposeful vertical brushstroke, a testament to its function. Mirror-polished edges frame the watch with a touch of elegance, while the circular satin finish on the case echoes its bold, cushion shape.
For the new release at Watches and Wonders 2024, a finely knurled crown promises a firm grip for adjustments, even during the most exhilarating pursuits. The very screws themselves, engraved with a subtle triangular motif, are a quiet nod to Alpina's legacy. The solid, screw-down caseback, engraved with the Alpiner collection symbol, isn't just a beautiful detail - it signifies a watch built to withstand anything life (or nature) throws your way, with a water resistance of 10 ATM.
