Nature's wonders have long fueled human curiosity. Among these mysteries are the captivating emerald icebergs found in the glacial Southern Ocean surrounding Antarctica. Unlike their typical white or blue counterparts, these green giants hold a unique secret. Inspired by this rare occurrence, Montblanc unveils its new 1858 0 Oxygen capsule collection at Watches and Wonders 2024, a trio of timepieces in green glacier pattern dials.

The Enigmatic Emerald

Emerald icebergs, also known as jade bergs, stand out for their mesmerizing deep green hue. However, the origin of the emerald icebergs remained a puzzle for scientists until recent discoveries. Research has revealed the key factors contributing to this captivating green color. An interplay between the blue glacial ice and the yellow-red dust, carried up from the bedrock below Antarctica, creates the stunning emerald green color that graces these icebergs and now adorns the dials of the Montblanc 1858 0 Oxygen collection.
