Watches And Wonders 2024: NOMOS Glashütte Unveils Iconic Tangente in 31 Vibrant Colors for 175th Anniversary
In celebration of 175 years of fine watchmaking tradition in Glashütte, Germany, NOMOS Glashütte is presenting a truly unique limited edition series - the iconic Tangente 38 date watch in 31 distinctive color variations. Unveiled at the prestigious Watches and Wonders show in Geneva, each colorway in the "Tangente 38 date - 175 Years Watchmaking Glashütte" collection is a limited run of just 175 pieces.
This daring reinterpretation of NOMOS' bestselling Tangente model brings vibrant personality and individuality to the world of Haute Horlogerie. From the bold "Sportbunt" with its red dial, turquoise minute track and yellow outer ring, to the refined "Schlossgrün" evoking ivy-covered garden walls, each watch bears its own unique name and aesthetic story.
While representing a stark departure from the classic Tangente design language, the 37.5mm cases, clear typography and recognizable profile ensure these remain unmistakably Tangente timepieces. NOMOS has carefully considered each detail, customizing strap colors, date discs and other components to complement the distinct dial hues.
Powered by NOMOS' hand-wound caliber DUW 4101 with the proprietary NOMOS swing system, the movement is adjusted to chronometer standards. The patented date mechanism allows an extra-large date aperture to be integrated into the dial's outer edge.
In an unprecedented move for the brand, this limited series is priced below the standard Tangente 38 date models, reflecting NOMOS' mission to make fine watchmaking more accessible. As Ines Hatzmannsberger, Head of PR notes, "Bringing individuality to the wrist and diversity to the world of fine watchmaking are important to NOMOS Glashütte."
Those eager to experience the full range of 31 colors in person can visit the NOMOS booth at Watches and Wonders in Geneva from April 9-15, 2024. This highly anticipated series promises to be a celebration of Glashütte's watchmaking heritage through the unmistakable design codes of an iconic NOMOS model, reinterpreted in an exuberantly colorful new way.
