Since its debut in 2010, the Van Cleef & Arpels Pont des Amoureux watch has remained one of the maison’s most enchanting Poetic Complications. Winning a prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, the timepiece captivated collectors with its tender narrative—two lovers, guided by a double retrograde movement, slowly moving toward each other on a Parisian bridge. At noon and midnight, they meet for a fleeting kiss, a moment where time itself seems to pause for three magical minutes before they part ways once more.

To heighten the romance, an on-demand animation allows the wearer to relive this intimate encounter at will, with the couple embracing in a delicate twelve-second sequence. This year, Van Cleef & Arpels enriches the Pont des Amoureux collection with four exquisite new variations, each reflecting a different time of day—Aube (Dawn), Matinée (Morning), Soirée (Dusk), and Clair de Lune (Moonlight). These additions bring a fresh palette of colors and emotions to the collection, elevating the poetic tale to new heights.

The artistry behind these timepieces is a testament to Van Cleef & Arpels’ mastery of craftsmanship. The dials come alive through the delicate technique of grisaille enamel, applied like an ethereal watercolor painting to create depth and subtle luminosity. In the foreground, the bridge is finely sculpted in gold, adding a sense of dimension and perspective to the romantic scene.
