Developed by Blancpain in 1956, the Fifty Fathoms is a more petite and refined version of this watch. There have been numerous variants of this watch since it was reintroduced to the collection in 2013, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of one of the earliest dive watches ever made. A chronograph, annual calendar, or full calendar with moon phase are just a few of the features we've seen on this watch in a variety of sizes and materials.

Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet
This time the Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet model has two new interpretations: One in red gold with a blue-gradient dial and the other in titanium with an anthracite dial. These new models bring together two iconic Blancpain universes: the sporty DNA of the Fifty Fathoms diver's watch, and the classic calendar with moon phases.

The Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet model builds on the notion of everyday utility that gave rise to the first Bathyscaphe by combining sporting elements with date, week, and month indications. A huge window at 6 o'clock shows the moon's location in relation to the Earth's axis. The 6654.P self-winding movement of this Bathyscaphe is protected by a security system provided by Blancpain. As a result, the wearer of the watch is able to manage any indicator at any given time, without putting the movement at risk.

Two satin-brushed variants of the new Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet are available, one in red gold and the other in grade 23 titanium, both water-resistant to 30 bar (about 300 m). Its sunburst blue-gradient dial, mounted on a red gold case, catches the light with extraordinary ease. The dial features a Ceragold time scale and gold hour markers and hands. The CeragoldTM bezel is unidirectional and features a blue ceramic inlay with a gold CeragoldTM time scale. On the back of the timepiece, a red gold oscillating weight continues the color-material theme.

With its delicate grey hues, the titanium model stands out from the rest. The gold hour-markers, rhodium-plated hands, and moon on its sunburst anthracite dial add a luxurious touch. Bezel: Satin-brushed anthracite ceramic, with graduated Liquid metal scale for contemporary matt look. An anthracite NAC coating has been applied to the titanium model's gold rotor to give it a sporty and dynamic feel.
