Breitling and IRONMAN have signed a long-term partnership and teamed up to co-design the Endurance Pro IRONMAN watches, a special series of Breitling’s ultimate athleisure watch.
Ultimate athleisure… Yes that is what Breitling is calling the two new Breitling Edurance Pro Ironman watches they have just introduced. This new partnership kicks off a long-term collaboration with Breitling becoming the new Official Luxury Watch of IRONMAN. Well, technically. the term athleisure refers to athletic apparel that can also be worn in a non-athletic setting, so let’s dive right into what these two new Breitling Edurance Pro Ironman watches have to offer.
Well for starters you just can’t miss the bright and bold colours on both the editions, that vibrant red and the black and gold version. The watches are relatively large at 44mm’s but should be extremely light considering the cases are made out of Breitlight®, which is 3.3 times lighter than titanium and 5.8 times lighter than steel. Now although it may seem like a lightweight, it is relatively harder than steel & exceptionally resistant to scratches, traction, and corrosion. It also stands out for its anti-magnetic and anti-allergic properties and feels warmer than metal on the wrist. That’s a check!
These new Breitling Edurance Pro Ironman watches, both the black and red versions, sport bidirectional rotating bezels with engraved compass points (N,S,E and W). Water-resistant to 10 bar (100 meters/330 feet), the dials on these watches display contrasting pulsometer scales, chronograph counters and an IRONMAN® logo at 6 o’clock.The Super- LumiNova® coated hour and minute hands is no surprise since legibility is a basic necessity. Now since the watches are powered Breitling’s thermo compensated SuperQuartzTM movement (Caliber 82), they are ten times more accurate than a conventional quartz watch. That’s another check!
The fiery red Breitling Endurance Pro IRONMAN version is presented on a red rubber strap with a Breitlight® double tang-type buckle featuring the IRONMAN inscription and is available globally at all Breitling boutiques and retailers and at www.breitling.com for sports and timekeeping enthusiasts.
The black and gold Breitling Endurance Pro IRONMAN Finisher piece also sports a similar strap in black however, is limited to athletes who’ve completed an IRONMAN event. This version with a caseback that features a special IRONMAN Finisher Series engraving will be available exclusively through IRONMAN channels.
With a case that light, these watches should be quite comfortable on the wrist and wouldn’t even interfere with an athlete’s training routine. On the basis of the facts presented here, the new Breitling Endurance Pro Ironman watches do check all the boxes for Ultimate Athleisure, aesthetically appealing functional tools.
