Whether you realize it, some of the world's most powerful tech companies are vying for a space on your wrist. Which one should you choose?

The answer is simple. Let's start with the most fundamental reality regarding smartwatches: they're not for everyone. Mostly, they make tasks like reading your communications, music management, and making quick calls that you would ordinarily do with your phone more convenient.

An insight into the smartwatch industry

Smartwatches have strengthened into sophisticated devices for exercise and health tracking with access to your favorite apps. With an influx of smartwatch purchases because of the pandemic and hybrid work models, it is the most preferred choice for the youth of India. With a 144% YoY growth and India being the largest market for wearables globally, it's the way forward.

Fossil Gen 6: Living in the future

What goes synonymous with the phrase "a vision to resonate with the youth of India?" You guessed it right. Fossil is here to make some noise in the wearables industry, with the sturdy competition.

Fossil has introduced the Gen 6 Touchscreen Smartwatch, the next generation of its wearables. They will use the Qualcomm® Snapdragon Wear 4100+ Platform for the first time in the Gen 6 smartwatch.

Johnson Verghese, MD of Fossil Group India, said, “As part of our ongoing effort to build a wearable ecosystem that provides a cutting-edge experience, the next generation of our smartwatches comes with a set of enhanced capabilities. And Gen 6 is a fantastic example of creativity. The Gen 6 debuts in India at the same time as we do in the United States and other key global markets.”

Should you make the switch?

While the Fossil Gen 5 was a look into the past, the Gen 6 is a living in the future. As appealing as the Gen 5 model looks, it's losing its experiential touch. Enabling consumers with speedier application launch times, more interactive user experiences, and more resourceful power consumption, Fossil Gen 6 keeps up with fashion and functionality. The battery charging time is 2x faster than top smartwatches, taking just over 30 minutes to reach 80 percent charge.

Continuous heart rate tracking, a new SpO2 sensor, speaker functionality for making and receiving tethered calls, Wear OS by Google and Fossil Group software upgrades. The upgrade to wear OS 3 features is a game-changer. Making the switch? It’s worth all the money.

The Gen 6 will be available in India from September 27th onwards, online via fossil.in and online exclusivity partner amazon.in, and offline via select retail shops, with prices ranging from INR 23,995 to INR 24,995.

Everything Fossil accomplished was based on creativity. Today, they focus on what makes it unique: its positive outlook, commitment to honesty, and, of course, creative energy.
