We have all known the nostalgia of holding a Rado watch in our hands, passed down from our ancestors. A brand that signifies a familial bond and rejoicing moments. The year 2021, a year of optimism and reinvention, has been chosen to unveil a timepiece unlike any other, one that is certain to revolutionise. The Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic results from many years of research and development, as well as the Rado Captain Cook's history and tradition.

Rado's DNA in its purest form is the development of the Captain Cook collection in high-tech ceramic. Its unique high-tech ceramic monobloc case design, scratch-resistant, and hypoallergenic high-tech ceramic, and the premium Rado calibre R734 with a NivachronTM hairspring are among the watch's highlights. The revolutionary NivachronTM hairspring protects the clock from magnetic fields, giving it an advantage in everyday life.

The Rado Difference

For the first time, the Captain Cook Ceramic is available in four variations, each with a case diameter of 43mm. An initial version with a hardened stainless steel rotating bezel and a black high-tech ceramic inlay in a black high-tech ceramic case and band. For those who prefer a more casual look, a second variant with an identical case and dial is available with a rubber strap. A third variant is available with a black high-tech ceramic case and bracelet, but with a rose gold PVD coated stainless steel rotating bezel and a black high-tech ceramic inlay.

All the references are driven by the Rado calibre R734, which has a 80-hour power reserve and is water resistance up to 30 bar (300 metres). The dial and case back are beautifully crafted in black-tinted sapphire crystal, allowing the wearer to admire and explore the inner workings of the skeletonized movement while being readable.

The white Super- LumiNova® fills the triangle on the bezel, the indices, and the famous Captain Cook’s hefty arrow hands on the dial, enabling clear visibility in the dark. The distinctive Rado revolving anchor is at 12 o'clock on this stunning sapphire dial, which is covered by a chevé box sapphire crystal.

The High-Tech Ceramic Campaign

Staring as a modern explorer in Swiss watchmaker Rado's current campaign to launch the Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic is none other than Bollywood heartthrob, Hrithik Roshan.
