As the days get warmer and the drinks get cooler, the onset of a hot hot summer makes its presence quite evident. The heat and tan lines aside, the summer does bring months of fun at the beach and in the countryside, including road trips, diving expeditions, yacht days, barbecues, and more. Of course, you’ll need a fine wrist companion to keep up with you — one that can survive daily wear and tear as well as a (deep) dive into the ocean or pool. But wait, it also has to be attractive. Your ideal summer watches are the ones that you put on in the mornings and don’t worry about until midnight.
Fortunately, there are summer watches that are both fashionable and functional, and well affordable too. Even with the existing travel restrictions, they make for great seasonally appropriate wristwear…We’ve compiled a selection of the best summer watches that will be your perfect companion, ranging from classy to vibrant to formal. Let’s dive right in!
1. Doxa SUB 600T
Are you the kind who loves the pop of colour and a diving watch to go with the summer vibes? Well then, this timepiece is your match made in heaven and the first in our list of best summer watches. Following the release of the SUB 600T Pacific in summer 2021 (the limited edition of 200 pieces sold out in less than three days), DOXA released the SUB 600T in stainless steel as a non-limited edition, a model that had been eagerly anticipated by the whole community of partners and customers.
The SUB 600T line features two bezel options: steel insert or ceramic insert, as well as the brand’s six signature colours. The bright orange dial quickly identifies it as a DOXA diver when it first appears. It is both a development and a revolution at the same time.
The curved tonneau case is no longer available. Instead, a chunky chamfered block with square corners and a 4 o’clock offset crown. The unidirectional bezel, which enables dive time calculation without decompression pauses — a DOXA patent – is also larger, providing enhanced legibility and handling with a gloved hand. Say goodbye to soft curves and hello to straight lines and right angles.
Did you know this watch is waterproof up to 600 meters? All dive-related indicators, including the distinctive ‘shark tooth’ markings at 6, 9, and 12 o’clock, are covered with luminescent Super-LumiNova® for excellent visibility in low light circumstances

2. The Longines Legend Diver Watch
Next on the list of best summer watches is “The Longines Legend Diver Watch” which has earned a devoted following since its introduction in 2007, thanks to its dynamic, clear depiction of the brand’s rich diving watch tradition. Colourful new versions in sand beige, ash grey, royal blue, and bright burgundy continue the tale.
The iconic The Longines Legend Diver Watch family’s latest models are expected to continue the winged-hourglass brand’s love affair with water. These new interpretations are available in two sizes and a variety of colours. Longines has expanded its range to include 36mm references in addition to 42mm references.
Each new timepiece has a sapphire crystal in the shape of a box, as well as two screw-in crowns and a screw-down caseback. Their shaded dials are equipped with bright hands, hour markers interlaced with luminescent squares, and Arabic numerals augmented with Super-LumiNova® rectangles for maximum visibility, as well as an internal rotating diving bezel – all of which serve as vivid recollections of the watch’s history. They’re also stamped with a diver’s symbol, just like the original model.
The self-winding mechanical movement with a silicon balance spring (L888.5 for 42mm and L592.5 for 36mm models) comes with a five-year warranty. The 42mm variants come with tone-on-tone fabric straps and sand beige or ash grey colour-gradient dials; the grey one is designed in the popular NATO style. The new 36mm references are also distinguished by their colour schemes, which include vibrant burgundy and desert beige with matching fabric straps. A royal blue variant is also available, with a leather strap that matches.

3. Omega Aqua Terra
Are you the kind who loves maintaining a formal look, yet adventurous? The Omega Aqua Terra is just the one for you. Aqua Terra is all about adaptability, as the name says. An OMEGA timepiece for those who are equally at home in the heart of the city as they are in the midst of the ocean. The Aqua Terra has been taken into fascinating new terrain by the Swiss brand, in keeping with the lifestyle of its target users, by incorporating a seconds hand that is an absolute first.
There are ten new 38mm models in the 2021 collection, two of which are luxury editions, as well as nine new 41mm models, four of which are luxury editions. New dials with subtle sun-brushed colours and two-tone teak patterns, as well as eye-catching hour markers such as diamonds positioned gradually from 6 to 12 o’clock and sailboat hull-shaped indexes with iridescent mother-of-pearl inlay, are featured in the collection.
Bracelets in matching metals, rubber bands in beige and blue, and leather straps in red, burgundy, beige, and green are available to secure the new timepieces to the wrist. Of the four mighty movements driving the Small Seconds watches, there are two calibres (8803/8917), each distinguished by an 18K Sedna™ gold rotor and balance bridge.
4. Seiko Prospex Collection: 1968 Diver’s Modern Re-interpretation Save The Ocean
We all wish to contribute to the environment’s wellbeing. And this watch is a testament to it. A fresh rendition of the 1968 diver’s watch was introduced into the Prospex series by Seiko. The watch will be part of the Save the Ocean series, which supports a variety of marine conservation efforts.
The patterned dial evokes the impression of the Antarctic terrain, while the gentle gradation of blue from bright to dark mimics the polar ice’s hauntingly stunning colours. The numerals and marks on the bezel perfectly depict the frozen landscape of blue ice.
The watch is also available with a fabric strap that combines the Seichu braiding technique, which is a traditional Japanese braiding technique. Of course, the strength and resistance to degradation caused by exposure to sunlight of this Seichu strap satisfy the most stringent Seiko Prospex diver’s watch specifications.
Powered by the Caliber 8L35, it was developed specifically for diver’s watches and is hand-assembled in the Shizukuishi Watch Studio in northern Japan by craftsmen. The firmness and accuracy of the movement ensure the best possible results in the most challenging settings, both on land and underwater. A limited-edition of 1300 pieces, this watch is priced at approximately INR 3,87,000.
