Amongst all the excitement of Watches & Wonders 2021, can we just take a minute and acknowledge the stunning new silver dial Black Bay that Tudor has introduced.

Who is Tudor?

The origins of TUDOR date back to 1926, when “The Tudor” was first registered as a brand on behalf of the founder of Rolex, Hans Wilsdorf. He created the company Montres TUDOR SA officially in 1946 to offer watches with the quality and dependability of a Rolex, at a more accessible price point. Today the TUDOR collection includes emblematic models such as Black Bay, Pelagos, 1926 and Royal. Since 2015, it has also offered mechanical Manufacture Calibres with many diverse functions and superior performance.

However, one of the most sought after watches amongst watch enthusiasts in India is the TUDOR Black Bay collection, the Black Bay fifty-eight to be precise, that was introduced back in 2018. A 39mm watch with warm tones, exuding some serious vintage charms. This year, Tudor brings us a silver dial in three sizes: 32mm / 36mm / 41mm. They are also available with black and blue lacquered dials, but the silver version is what grabbed the headlines this year.

A silver Black Bay dial with a polished stainless steel case and a smooth bezel is quite the show stopper. Made from a block of one of the most robust stainless steels in existence, 316L steel, the case on this model is waterproof in all circumstances and to 150 metres (500 feet)  below sea level thanks to its screw-down crown and case-back. Adding that multifunctional sporty-chic touch are the traditional superluminova infused “Snowflake” hands against a radiant sunburst silver.

Powered by calibre T600 with a 38hour power reserve, the new silver Back Bay sits on a  bracelet which is neither too slack nor too tight. All in all, be it a formal occasions or a more laid-back surrounding, the new "gender neutral" silver Black Bay, is yet another example of Tudor promising their future owners no less than the best possible quality at the best possible price.
