Christopher Ward Introduces The C12 Loco: A Revolution In Motion

If you’ve ever spent time looking at watch movements, you’ll know that simplicity and symmetry are the hardest things to achieve. Yet this was the mission for The C12 Loco, designed to hide immense complexity beneath the neatest, most linear of layouts.
Centring a brand-new movement that makes visual harmony its raison d'être, this is a watch that knows when to shout, and when to step back and allow its most subtle and beautiful details to shine. From the hand-polished bridges at the front of the movement to the balance wheel they frame, it’s a masterpiece of elegant, less-is-more design.

Meet CW-003, only our second-ever in-house movement, created specifically to power The C12 Loco. As with its sister calibre, SH21, this brand-new movement features twin mainspring barrels for a remarkable power reserve. But that’s where the similarities end. Entirely redesigned and reconfigured, it places the barrels on top of each other in perfect alignment and – thanks to new, improved spring technology – actually provides an entire extra day of power over SH21, amounting to a full six days (or a mighty 144 hours).
