Panerai Revives Its Naval Spirit With The New Luminor Marina PAM01759

Panerai introduces the Luminor Marina PAM01759, a 1000-piece limited edition that reflects the brand’s deep maritime heritage and its earliest Florentine-made instruments. The watch draws on familiar design cues from Panerai’s formative years supplying precision tools to the Italian Navy, blending those vintage signatures with modern construction.

Its 44mm stainless steel case is paired with a domed sapphire crystal, a detail that immediately brings to mind the silhouette of early underwater equipment. The crystal subtly magnifies the all-numeral dial an arrangement long associated with some of Panerai’s most recognisable historic models. Here, the markings glow with green Super-LumiNova®, a practical nod to the low-light readability once required by military divers. The small-seconds display at 9 o’clock reinforces that utilitarian spirit, recalling how divers monitored the running of the watch during submerged operations.

Inside, the P.9010 automatic calibre delivers a three-day power reserve through its twin barrels and offers convenient hour-jumping for quick time-zone adjustments without disturbing the minute hand. Staying true to the watch’s archival inspiration, Panerai forgoes a date window, allowing the dial’s clean, purpose-driven layout to take centre stage much like the naval tools that shaped the brand’s earliest identity.
