To mark the 50th anniversary of the iconic movie Jaws, Seiko has unveiled the Prospex JAWS 50th Anniversary SRPL81, a limited edition that builds on the recognizable architecture of the King Turtle diver. Bold, playful, and unmistakably inspired by the film, the watch leans into its theme with obvious visual cues. In many ways, it feels like a natural evolution of Seiko’s previous PADI and Save the Ocean editions, particularly in terms of its oceanic color palette and adventurous spirit.
At its core, though, this is still very much a King Turtle a modern, robust upgrade to Seiko’s beloved vintage-inspired Turtle line. The signature cushion-shaped stainless steel case is finished with a mix of brushed and polished surfaces and features the familiar 4 o’clock crown placement typical of the Prospex range. Despite its 45mm diameter and 13.2mm thickness, it wears comfortably thanks to a compact 47.7mm lug-to-lug span. Equipped with a screw-down crown and solid caseback, the watch offers 200 meters of water resistance, staying true to its professional dive watch credentials.
