This creation is the result of an upcycling initiative in which high-quality leather offcuts—originally generated in the shoemaking process—are transformed into elegant watch straps. The leather is sourced from REGAL, a long-established Japanese shoemaker. By finding new value in the inevitable offcuts produced during shoemaking, the material is reborn in the form of a wristwatch strap. Blending Seiko’s renowned craftsmanship with a respect for materials, the classic and sustainable creation reflects both tradition and innovation.

A gradient dial inspired by “Shiracha,” a refined color cherished in the Edo period. The dial features a soft gradient based on Shiracha—a subtle and sophisticated shade of brown admired during the late Edo period, particularly in the Bunsei era, by tea masters and enthusiasts of traditional arts. Paired with elegant gold-tone indexes and hands, the design ensures excellent legibility while enhancing the warm, classic aesthetic of the watch.
