Audemars Piguet Hits The Sweet Spot With The Code 11.59 Selfwinding 38MM
In watch enthusiast circles, 38mm is renowned as a “goldilocks” size that perfectly straddles elegance and versatility. Now, Audemars Piguet has audaciously challenged conventions since 1875 - is expanding its contemporary Code 11.59 collection with two visually arresting new references boldly scaled down to this enthusiast-favored 38mm case diameter.
At first glance, the new models appear more compact than the existing 41mm and 42mm Code 11.59 pieces. However, upon closer inspection, they contain all the groundbreaking and complex aesthetic codes that define the collection's unique identity. This includes the octagonal middle case seamlessly integrated within an extra-thin bezel and a sleek round caseback. Additionally, the indentations on the crown are more pronounced for 2022, aligning with the geometric design evolution across the line and elevating visual intrigue.
Both new 38mm models are graced with the collection's latest textured dial, available in rich purple or creamy ivory. Developed in collaboration with renowned Swiss guilloché specialist Yann von Kaenel, the dial features a custom gradient pattern with countless tiny perforations radiating outwards from the center in mesmerizing wave-like movement. By utilizing PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition), Audemars Piguet achieves remarkable dial colors while preserving the depth of the complex embossing for maximum light interaction.
At the core of these contemporary yet timeless timepieces is Audemars Piguet's new self-winding Calibre 5900 movement. Initially launched in 2022 within 37mm Royal Oak editions, the slim 4mm manufacture movement is visible through the sapphire caseback, decorated with refinements including Côtes de Genève and an ornate 22-carat pink gold oscillating weight.
With these uniquely sized additions in pink gold, Audemars Piguet provides an ideal modern and versatile option tailored towards smaller wrists. The new 38mm Code 11.59 references demonstrate the brand's continuous drive for innovation and boundary-pushing creativity.
