Iconic Landmarks Engraved on the Case Back
The captivating 3-D-look engraving on the case back's sapphire crystal, which is devoted to each watch's distinct hometown, is what makes each watch so unique. The Lucerne Edition, for example, includes the city's iconic Chapel Bridge, while the Tokyo Edition includes the city's cityscape and Mount Fuji in the background. The Tiananmen Square landmark is inscribed on the case back of the Heritage BiCompax Annual Beijing. A one-of-a-kind case-back crystal with a similarly famous and unmistakable monument to its respective city distinguishes each edition.
The Hometown Edition timepieces come in a variety of hues. "We wanted something more special than a traditional watch launch. We talked to the boutique teams in each of our 'hometowns' about their particular clients' tastes, which allowed us to select colours that would appeal to the demands and needs of the customers in each city", explains CEO Sascha Moeri.
One Timepiece – Five Striking Designs
Gradient dials are used on the watches, which means that the centre of the dial is silver and progressively transitions to darker tones of the appropriate colour as you move away from the centre. They've been made in five distinct colours with sunray brushed surfaces.
These dials, which come in a variety of colours including yellow, brown, burgundy, green, and mint, are works of art in their own right. Along with the black Super-LumiNova-filled rhodium-plated central hour and minute hands, there's a central chronograph seconds hand, a tachymeter scale, and a large date aperture at 12 o'clock, as well as the annual calendar's month indicator between the 4 and 5 o'clock positions.
The black tiny seconds and chronograph subdials stand out against the white dial. The timepieces are featured on a two-tone perforated calfskin leather strap with dial-matching stitching.
Hometown Edition, TokyoThe Heritage BiCompax Annual Hometown Edition case backs carry the name of the city and the tagline "1 out of 88," in addition to the characteristic engraved silhouette of each hometown's defining landmark. The Beijing watches will be limited to 188 pieces and will be individually numbered.
