Complex Technical Marvel In A Skeletonised Mechanical Affair In The BR05 Collection
Aeronautical-inspired watches are a specialty of Bell & Ross. However, a number of its timepieces take a flight to a whole new world of watchmaking. The BR 05 collection at Bell & Ross was launched in 2019 and was a contemporary expression of the house’s core DNA. Designed for urban lifestyles, the collection marries integrated straps and cases in perfect harmony.
Since the inception of the BR 05 family, the skeleton collection has been a huge success. Open dials offering a magnificent glance into the intriguing watch mechanisms bring the mechanical details to the center stage.
The Skeleton collection, part of this family, has been a huge success since its introduction. The launch of the skeleton collection in 2019 marked by the first all-steel Skeleton was followed by different variations: the Skeleton Blue in 2020, the NightLum in 2021, and the Skeleton Green in 2022.
At the Watches and Wonders 2023, Bell & Ross showcased to the world the latest in its collection with the launch of the BR 05 Skeleton, this time is a golden hue of the dial. This latest iteration of the skeleton collection in the BR 05 family sets a new benchmark and serves a vibrant and chic aesthetic to the range.
An Integrated “Round Within The Square “Case
The signature 40 mm diameter steel case fitted with a satin-brushed steel bezel fixed by four polished steel slotted screws is a trademark aesthetic of the BR 05 collection. The case configuration is safe in depths of up to 100 meters and features an exhibition back allowing the movement to be seen with a particular emphasis on the 360° oscillating weight. The whole timepiece does not exceed 5.45 mm in thickness which is a remarkable feat for a watch of such design.
A Dial You Can See Through
The dial on BR 05 Skeleton Golden is toned in an amber hue from the golden flange. Enhanced numeral indexes maintain legibility at a high level despite the watch’s transparent dial. The skeletonized baton-shaped hands are coated with Grade X1 White 10 SuperLumiNova®, a substance with green luminescent emissions.
Thanks to its translucent dial, this watch sets a bright stage for the marvelous mechanical movement omnipresent in view for the wearer.
A Skeleton Movement
The hallmark aesthetic of the timepiece is a result of the revelation of the self-winding Swiss Made caliber BR-CAL.322 through the translucent dial. This watch revealed at the Watches and Wonders highlights its mechanism to bring the entire timepiece to life.
As stated by Bruno Belamich, co-founder and Creative Director of Bell & Ross, “We started from a good movement to create a beautiful movement”.
A Choice Of Styling For The Wearer
The technical prowess of this timepiece revealed at the Watches and Wonders 2023 continues from the movement to the case and is equally embraced by the integrating design of the central link of the bracelet into the case.
“The integration of the bracelet into the case is carried out according to the brand’s codes while at the same time bringing another dimension to the watch: the first link is part of the case. This type of design has been a reference since the 1970s and when we transpose it to Bell & Ross, we obtain a result that is both obvious and ergonomic”, says Bruno Belamich.
The style of attachment makes it possible for the wearer to cherish the BR 05 Skeleton Golden either on a steel bracelet or with a rubber strap. In all its combinations, the BR 05 Skeleton Golden showcases pinnacle standards of ingenuity and master craftsmanship.
A Watch For Urban Lifestyles
Aimed at purist watchmaking enthusiasts, the BR 05 Skeleton Golden is all about fine detailing. The BR 05 Skeleton Golden in continuation of the true spirit of Bell & Ross is a fitting piece of equipment to adorn in urban environments.
With its proportions and distinctive geometry, the BR 05 collection offers a new reading of the complex equation between technique and aesthetics.
The BR 05 Skeleton Golden is available in a limited edition of 500 pieces.
