What a year 2020 has been so far! From the pandemic to storms and cyclones, I think it is safe to say that India has witnessed various levels of Jumanji this year. However since unlock 4.0 has been implemented we have seen a slight change in the mood and mind-set, well with the festivities right around the corner. Although the big fat Indian weddings have had to lean down extensively, it still hasn’t dampened the mood.
That being said we have curated a list of 8 gold watches that we recommend for your watch wardrobe this festive season. Be it Diwali, a wedding or Christmas, these watches will surely brighten up your collection and well, your mood.

The Pasha that made it to our list this year is this gorgeous uniquely shaped 35mm pink gold version. That square filigree rail-track on the dial adorned with the four distinctive Arabic numerals and sword-shaped hand give this iconic Cartier a very contemporary feel. Just ike this one all the 2020 Pasha watches are available with the SmartLink system, which means that you can easily adjust the link of the bracelet via a pushbutton that release the fixing bar allowing the removal or addition of the metal links. You can also interchange the metal strap to a leather one with the help of Cartier’s Quickswitch system, however for this particular pink gold Pasha with a diamond set bezel and that sapphire cabochon fluted crown, we would certainly recommend a bracelet over a strap.
OYSTER PERPETUAL DATEJUST 31 IN WHITE ROLESOR
How could we possibly curate a festive wardrobe without the crown! Of all the DJ’s ( DATEJUST’s) introduced this year, the one that had us all starry eyed was this royal aubergine delight. At 31mm, this white Rolesor (A combination of Oystersteel and 18 ct white gold) Datejust with a deep aubergine sunray dial is further enhanced with white gold Roman numerals with a diamond set Vi and bezel. With its vitally scratchproof sapphire crystal, you could easily pair this DJ with minimal wrist accessories and expect minimum damage to your watch. The perfect all day to evening addition to your wardrobe!
LUMINOR DUE
From the crown to the radically downsized PAM 1045. Well, downsized for Panerai standards! This Luminor Due PAM 1045 in GoldTech, although substantially thinner than the historic Luminors, is, in my opinion, the perfect way enter the Paneristi world. With that white dial, beige arabic numerals and gorgeous gold case, this 38mm Luminor Due boldly reflects the eclectic Italian demeanour with a touch of formal sophistication & elegance. That’s certainly a first for Panerai.
OVERSEAS PERPETUAL CALENDAR ULTRA-THIN
Up next on our list is the epitome of haute horlogerie, the Overseas Perpetual Ultra-thin. For a 41.5mm watch with a thickness of just 8.1mm, this icon features the hours, minutes, perpetual calendar function – with the day of the week, date, month and leap year shown on a 48-month counter, as well as moon phases. Presented for the first time in a pink gold case, the Overseas Perpetual Ultra-thin is available with bracelet or alligator leather / blue rubber strap which can be easily interchanged. Althoughs the aesthetics of this watch would transform completely when worn with a leather or rubber strap, as an addition to you festive watch wardrobe, we certainly recommend this stunner with its original pink gold bracelet itself.

2020 is a big year for Portugieser for IWC and true to the spirit of this Manufacture, we did witness some fantastic additions to the Portugieser family. Of the various complications introduced this year, the one that caught our attention as the perfect everyday watch is the new 42.3mm boutique edition chronograph in an 18-carat 5N gold case with an intense blue dial. This beauty is not just an aesthetic delight. Due to its slightly larger dimensions, the movement (IWC-manufactured 52010 calibre) has enough room for two barrels that then build up a power reserve of seven days. At 42.3mm it may appear to be relatively large wrist machine, but is artfully executed to give you an extremely captivating experience.
