Hublot Unveils Three New Variants Of Square The Big Bang Unico

A new Hublot watch design, square in shape like the iconic Big Bang, caused quite a stir at the 2022 edition of Watches & Wonders. Joining the existing barrel-shaped models in "The Shaped Collection" is the Square Bang Unico. For watchmakers trained on round cases, its unusual geometry represents a significant challenge. Hublot, true to form, used this occasion to flaunt its technical prowess. The sandwich-like construction of the case and the use of high-tech materials, both of which contributed to the Big Bang Unico's popularity, have been reinterpreted here. The six functional H-shaped screws that are a trademark of the Maison are prominently displayed alongside the other hallmarks of the brand icon. Customers and collectors alike have recognized the value of the Square Bang Unico, giving it their enthusiastic endorsement.

A year later, at Watches And Wonders 2023, Hublot reimagined the model, this time showcasing the Maison's exceptional skills through the use of sapphire with the exclusive Square Bang Unico Sapphire, available in a limited run of 250 pieces. Engineers at Hublot overcame the double whammy of the watch's square shape and multilayered sapphire case to make it water-resistant to a pressure of 5 ATM.

The world-famous Unico movement is still made in-house, and it has kept all the characteristics that have made it so well-known. The HUB1280 is a high-end automatic column-wheel flyback chronograph caliber that beats at 4 Hz (28,800 vib/h) and has a power reserve of 72 hours.

Not to mention, it fits the square format very well, so you can see it clearly through the sapphire crystal case, the openwork dial, and the back of the watch. By releasing new white and black iterations of the Square Bang Unico, Hublot is further solidifying its standing as an industry pioneer and leader in the use of ceramics.

These three variations are all equipped with a rubber strap and a titanium deployant buckle. Hublot's proprietary One Click interchangeable system allows for a wide variety of strap options, allowing the watch to be tailored to the wearer's style.
