Imagine an intimate gathering where the air is filled with excitement and anticipation, as watch enthusiasts and collectors mingle with master watchmakers and industry legends. This isn’t just an event; it’s an adventure where passion, knowledge, and intriguing stories are shared face-to-face. The event is the highly anticipated IAMWATCH which is an exclusive, three-day experience set in the lush paradise of tropical Singapore from 18th October to 20th October. The website mentions the event dress code as Resort Casual, Double-Wristed. Now with a dress code like that, the agenda for the upcoming weekend is pretty clear!

In 2004, The Hour Glass launched Tempus—The Great Watchscapade, one of the first enthusiast-focused watch expositions in the world. This event became an unforgettable celebration, enriching both exhibitors and watch lovers alike. Fast forward two decades, and The Hour Glass has unveiled its latest venture: IAMWATCH—an enigmatic journey into the heart of horology!

At the helm of this exciting endeavour is Michael Tay, a well-respected figure in the watch industry. As the Managing Director of The Hour Glass, Tay has been instrumental in shaping the luxury watch landscape in Asia. His vision for IAMWATCH is to create an engaging environment where watch enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the world of horology. Tay believes that the best way to appreciate watches is through personal interactions, allowing participants to explore the craft, craftsmanship, and culture of watchmaking.

At the IAMWATCH event, one can expect a carefully curated showcase featuring over 40 brands from the watch world. Deep dives into a series of captivating conversations, thought-provoking horological lectures, and a host of interactive community activities. Some of the attendees include independent watchmakers Raúl Pagès, Kari Voutilainen, Konstantin Chaykin, Maximilian Büsser, along with some industry representatives such as Watch director, LVMH, Jean Arnault, author and curator David Rooney, CEO De Bethune, Pierre Jacques and many more interesting watch professionals.

The event kicks off with an opening ceremony that sets the stage for the days to come. Attendees will be welcomed with a series of keynote speeches, highlighting the event's purpose and significance. Following this, guests will have the opportunity to explore showcases featuring over 40 exhibitors, representing some of the most renowned and emerging watch brands. Expect to see exclusive timepieces, learn about innovative technologies, and discover unique designs that exemplify the art of watchmaking.

IAMWATCH will feature engaging panel discussions and fireside chats with industry leaders and watchmakers. These conversations are designed to provide insights into the evolving landscape of horology, touching on topics such as the future of watch collecting, sustainable practices, and the intersection of technology and craftsmanship. Participants can expect to ask questions and share their thoughts in an interactive format that encourages dialogue and connection.

The final day of IAMWATCH will focus on community building and networking. Participants can engage in interactive activities, meet fellow enthusiasts, and form lasting connections. Special events may include group discussions, networking dinners, and opportunities for attendees to showcase their personal collections. This camaraderie creates an atmosphere of shared passion, fostering friendships that extend beyond the event itself.
