India Watch Weekend (IWW) returns in January 2026 with renewed ambition: to place India firmly on the global horological map. Marketed as the country’s first knowledge-led, fully immersive watch festival, India Watch Weekend is curated for collectors, serious buyers, industry professionals and newcomers alike. Across two days—January 17–18, 2026—the Four Seasons Hotel, Mumbai, will host maisons, independent watchmakers, retailers and a growing community of enthusiasts for masterclasses, talks, salon sessions and exclusive previews.

Why India Matters Now
India is no longer a market on the periphery. Rapid digital adoption, a maturing luxury retail ecosystem and a younger generation developing refined taste have turned the country into a crucial growth node for global maisons. India Watch Weekend is designed to reflect that momentum: not a mere showcase of watches, but a forum where provenance, craft and collecting are interrogated and celebrated. In short, it’s where global brands and local collectors meet with intent.

Fondation Haute Horlogerie (FHH) Raising the Bar on Education
This edition marks a significant collaboration: the Fondation Haute Horlogerie (FHH) will bring the FHH Academy’s structured learning to IWW’s programming—quizzes, panels and certification-style sessions that deepen the event’s educational credentials.

“India Watch Weekend is a powerful reminder that watchmaking culture resonates far beyond Switzerland. I am excited to share knowledge and perspectives with a community that is both deeply curious and rapidly growing,” says Pascal Ravessoud, Vice President, Fondation Haute Horlogerie. Aurélie Streit, Vice President, FHH, echoes this view: “The FHH Academy was created to set global standards in watchmaking knowledge. At India Watch Weekend 2026 we reaffirm our commitment to educating, inspiring, and strengthening the community that drives this industry forward. India’s passion and momentum make it an indispensable part of this mission.”

What to Expect: Education, Access, Community
India Watch Weekend's programming is deliberately layered. Expect deep-dive masterclasses that decode complications, materials and restoration techniques, salon talks unpacking provenance and collecting frameworks; and hands-on ateliers where watchmakers and independent ateliers demonstrate craft. Multi-sensory installations and virtual manufacture tours will bring manufacture floors and artisans to Mumbai virtually—an essential addition for audiences who cannot visit Europe.

For brands, the event functions as both a clienteling opportunity and a market-entry platform. For maisons already established in India, India Watch Weekend offers a place to deepen relationships and present novelties in a curated context. For those not yet present, the weekend is pitched as a natural entry point—a concentrated way to meet serious buyers, press and retail partners with cultural context and credibility.

Built for the Community
India Watch Weekend is unashamedly community-first. The event programmes private previews, invite-only roundtables and guided floor walks for collector clubs, retailers and media. It’s as much about conversation as it is about catalogue: the organisers aim to foster connections—between collectors, between brands and their audiences, and between newcomers and seasoned connoisseurs.

The Bigger Picture
Where once watches were status symbols, today they are narratives—craft, provenance, sustainability, and technical excellence increasingly define value. India Watch Weekend positions itself at the intersection of these narratives, arguing that India’s burgeoning interest in serious collecting deserves both context and celebration.
