LV Announces The Louis Vuitton Watch Prize For Independent Creatives : Calling All Watch Lovers

 

Driven by a passion for watchmaking innovation and daring design, La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton is pleased to announce the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives. Jean Arnault announced it himself via a video on social media today.

With a commitment to support and encourage the creative talent of independent watchmakers and help them shine, this award is for those with bold visions who dare to challenge the now and defy the test of time. The prize is founded with the goal of fostering creativity and innovation, while honoring the art of watchmaking.

Comprised of qualified and recognized authorities in the watchmaking world, a Committee of International Experts will evaluate the shortlisted candidates in order to select five finalists based on design, creativity, innovation, craftsmanship, and technical complexity. These finalists are then called on to present their creation for the final round. The Jury will then audition the finalists and vote for the winner who will be announced during a special award ceremony at the beginning of 2024.

The winner of the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives will be offered a grant as well as a one-year mentorship by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, tailored to the needs of their creative project. A dedicated team will support the winner in multiple aspects, including communication, copyright and corporate legal aspects, as well as marketing, industrial strategy, and the financial management of a brand. A unique and valuable opportunity for independent watchmakers to be mentored by experts and thus combine creativity and commercial success.

How do you participate?

• Candidates must have independently designed and created a timepiece or horological construction that has been legally protected under a registered enterprise.
• Only creations manufactured and commercialized before July 2023 are eligible for application.
• Each candidate may only apply once and submit one creation throughout the competition.
• Before starting your application please make sure to have all technical details about your creation, pictures and/or videos of your creations in .jpg and .mp4 format and a portrait picture of the person you wish to designate as the representative of your creation (founder, designer, watchmaker, etc).

There are no registration fees and candidates may apply in their chosen language. More languages will be available soon.

Through this initiative, La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton intends to celebrate the creative talent, savoir-faire, and audacity of the independent watchmaking industry, to encourage artisans and entrepreneurs, and accompany future generations. What a wonderful initiative!
