Introducing the MING 37.02: Where Innovation Meets Minimalism

Horologer MING's latest release, the 37.02 Minimalist, marks a defining moment in the brand's journey. Founded in 2017, MING has always aimed to reignite excitement in watch design through meticulous attention to detail, innovative materials, and cutting-edge engineering. With the launch of the 37.02 Minimalist, the brand takes a significant leap forward, as it is the first watch to be entirely designed, engineered, and managed in-house by Horologer Ming SA, the brand’s Swiss entity.

This transition to in-house production, which began two years ago, stems from a desire to gain more control over the supply chain and achieve quicker lead times. It also opens the door for continued innovation and better value for customers. One of the key outcomes of this internal shift is the development of MING Polar White, a proprietary luminous material that emits a true white glow across all wavelengths, something that external sources were unable to achieve for years. The 37.02 Minimalist is the first timepiece to feature this unique material, further setting it apart in the luxury watch market.

The 37.02 Minimalist pays homage to earlier milestone models like the 17.01 and 27.01, reflecting the brand's vision of what a minimalist, essential timepiece should be. The watch is versatile, fitting seamlessly into a variety of settings—from under a suit cuff to a casual day at the beach. It is designed for everyday wear, with a self-winding movement that ensures it is always ready to go. Whether on a leather strap or a molded rubber strap, the 37.02 adapts effortlessly to different styles and occasions.

The sapphire dial is a standout feature, designed to play with light in ways that few other materials can achieve. Depending on the angle, the dial can appear to glow, reflect, or even absorb light. The laser-cut markings on the dial are filled with MING's proprietary Polar White lume, while the handset features Super-LumiNova X1 in blue for contrast and improved legibility.

The case design is another highlight of the 37.02 Minimalist. Crafted from stainless steel, it measures 38mm in diameter and 11mm in height, but the narrow bezel and mixed polished-brushed finishes create the illusion of a larger and thinner profile. The oversized crown, paired with double gaskets, makes for easy winding and setting, while offering 100 meters of water resistance.
