Oris Makes A Sustainable Splash With New Timepieces & A Diver’s First - Geneva Watch Days 2023
Swiss watchmaker Oris is riding high into Geneva Watch Days 2023 with three exciting new watch releases - Oris x Bracenet Aquis Date, AquisPro 4000M, and the Artelier S. As part of the brand's "Change for the Better" initiative, Oris is strengthening its commitment to environmental causes by partnering with organizations that are driving positive change.
Oris X Bracenet: Aquis Date
The headliner is the Oris x Bracenet, a special edition Aquis Date diving watch featuring a spectacular dial made of recycled "ghost nets." Ghost nets are abandoned or lost fishing nets that drift through the oceans catching and killing marine life. Social enterprise Bracenet collects these nets and upcycles them into fashion accessories and now, striking watch dials. Each dial is uniquely colorful and made by melting down net fragments without any additives or glues and is available in 43.50mm and 36.50mm stainless steel cases.
For the Oris X Bracenet dial, Bracenet uses blue, green, and white fragments of old nets, gently warmed until melted into a colorful swirling material. This sets into a 0.3mm sheet that is cut and sanded into unique dials - no two will be exactly alike. The vibrant patchwork effect is eye-catching, while Super-LumiNova-filled hands and indices maintain practical visibility underwater.
Powering the watch is an Oris 733 automatic mechanical movement visible through the exhibition caseback. Water resistance is an impressive 30 bar (300 meters) thanks to the stainless steel case construction and rotating bezel. The 43.50mm model comes on a secure metal bracelet while the 36.50mm has a textile strap.
Launching in September 2023, the Oris X Bracenet retails for CHF 2,350. Oris will donate part of sales to Bracenet's nonprofit partners involved in recovering ghost nets from the oceans. The watch makes a sustainable statement on the wrist.
AquisPro 4000M
Oris is thrilled to introduce the AquisPro 4000m, the most water-resistant diver's watch they have ever made. It has a titanium case that can withstand pressures up to 400 bar, equivalent to 4,000 meters depth. The watch features Oris-patented technology like the Rotation Safety System bezel, designed in collaboration with professional divers to lock the bezel securely in place. It also has our security folding clasp extension system, allowing easy on-the-fly strap adjustment.
Powering the AquisPro 4000m is the Oris Calibre 400, a high-performance automatic mechanical movement offering a five-day power reserve, anti-magnetism, chronometer-level accuracy, and 10-year recommended service intervals backed by a 10-year warranty with registration. The striking blue gradient dial has a wave pattern and a blue ceramic bezel insert with a dive-time scale. Completing the look is a blue rubber strap.
Artelier S
They're also delighted to introduce two new models to their beloved Artelier line. Keeping with Oris's design ethos, the Artelier S features only essential elements. The smooth 38mm stainless steel case delivers comfort and practicality, while the lugs curve elegantly into the leather strap. Tapered hands have a filigree lume fill, and hour markers are trimmed tight to the edge of the deep black or mature forest green dials, ensuring legibility without intruding.
Inside beats a Swiss Made Oris 733 automatic movement, wound by our signature red rotor and visible through the exhibition caseback. With its simple, elegant, classic, pure design, the Artelier S embodies timeless style.
Through partnerships with purpose-driven organizations, Oris is demonstrating its commitment to real change.
