Oris Takes a Nostalgic Plunge with New Divers Sixty-Five Chronograph
Vintage-inspired diver watches have seen a resurgence in recent years, offering a nostalgic nod to the early days of recreational diving in the 1960s. Swiss watchmaker Oris is leaning into this retro trend with the release of a new Divers Sixty-Five Chronograph model this September.
This fresh take on Oris's popular Divers Sixty-Five series has a 40mm case size, smaller than previous iterations. The watch evokes Oris's first diver watch from 1965 with its minimalist dial design, rotating bezel, and vintage-look chronograph pushers.
At the watch's heart is an automatic mechanical movement with a 48-hour power reserve. The monochromatic black dial features applied indices filled with Super-LumiNova for legibility. Two sub-dials track continuous seconds and a 30-minute counter.
This new Divers Sixty-Five comes paired with either a black leather strap made of sustainably sourced deer leather or a stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp.
Oris is known for blending vintage aesthetics with modern watchmaking. The Divers Sixty-Five series pays homage to the early days of recreational diving while meeting today's standards for performance. The retro-inspired look combined with a high-quality Swiss movement caters to watch enthusiasts looking for a stylish, nostalgic diver watch.
With its smaller case size and refined dial, this new chronograph model puts a fresh twist on a classic Oris diver design. Continuing the story started in 1965, the Divers Sixty-Five Chronograph brings vintage diving style into 2023 and beyond. Its blend of retro charm and modern engineering shows the enduring appeal of tasteful vintage-inspired sport watches.
