Why can’t horology be a little bit more playful from time to time? In an industry that typically
takes itself very seriously, Studio Underd0g offers a fresh perspective.

Strawberries & Cream with Miguel

Miguel Seabra, a watch and tennis journalist, was an outspoken supporter of Studio Underd0g and is now an active participant in the Underd0g community. The initial prototype of a new colorway was inspired by Miguel's ideal day, which included basking in the British summer weather, watching a captivating tennis match, and indulging in a generous serving of strawberries and cream. What began as a joke is now a fresh perspective that challenges the solemnity of the watch world.

Launch details

Pre-orders for this model will be accepted from August 9 until August 16, 2022. The order page won't be reopened when the 7-day pre-purchase window closes, and the watch won't be manufactured once again. They chose to launch in this fashion to ensure that these watches go to aficionados and not flippers while also improving the checkout experience.

ST-1901 Movement

The Swiss Venus Cal.175 was the ancestor of the mechanical hand-winding ST-1901 Movement before the Chinese Airforce purchased the tooling and technical drawings in the early 1960s.

Each watch is tested in the UK before shipment to make sure it is operating properly within the anticipated tolerances. Demagnetization, accuracy/rate evaluation (3 positions), and regulation, if needed, are all parts of the procedure. Every watch comes with a report card.

Championing British Independents

The return of British brands in the horological industry is tremendously exciting, and the brand wishes to contribute to the expansion of this industry in 2018. By 2022, Studio Underd0g watches will not only be assembled in Great Britain, but will also have collaborated with two British independent companies.

The Strap Tailor

As part of this new launch, they have worked with David Richards, aka; The Strap Tailor, to create a gorgeously soft, handcrafted Epsom calfskin strap. This lavish strap is created using a multi-step, one-of-a-kind tanning procedure that takes over a month to finish. Haas Zermatt, which feels good on the wrist and is sweat- and moisture-resistant, serves as the lining.

Horologium

The brand has also teamed up with Horologium, who will do a thorough, independent QC examination on all watches before they are shipped out from the UK. Demagnetization, accuracy/rate evaluation (3 places), and control if needed are all parts of the procedure. Every watch comes with a report card.

With the addition of a delightfully contemporary dial, they've imitated a historic shape from the mid-20th century using modern manufacturing processes. The logo and movement details balance out the subdials' different sizes, allowing the chronograph seconds hand to traverse across them without interruption. Eccentric, yet well-balanced.

 Miguel Seabra

Since Miguel Seabra admits to being a strapaholic, the Strawberries & Cream watch came with two strap options (both included): a tapered Milanese mesh and a beige Epsom calfskin.
