Few watches carry the weight of time like the TAG Heuer Monaco. Bold, square, and forever tied to the golden age of motorsport and the silver screen, the Monaco has never just been about telling time it’s about capturing it. Ahead of the Formula 1 racing weekend, TAG Heuer doubles down on this legacy with not one but three thrilling new releases that pay homage to the Monaco’s rebellious spirit, technical prowess, and cinematic cool.

Racing Heritage Reborn: Monaco Chronograph x Gulf

Leading the charge is the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph x Gulf, a limited-edition tribute to one of motorsport’s most iconic partnerships. Limited to 971 pieces, the watch reconnects with the magic of 1971—the year Le Mans hit theatres and Steve McQueen cemented the Monaco’s legendary status.

With a silver-grained dial, vertically running Gulf stripes, and the vintage Heuer logo, this chronograph revives the imagery of McQueen’s racing suit and Porsche 917K. Powered by the Calibre 11, it features the Monaco’s signature left-positioned crown—a quiet nod to the automatic revolution it helped spark in 1969. This launch also coincides with a historic milestone in Formula 1, as TAG Heuer becomes the first title partner of the Monaco Grand Prix, underscoring its deep-rooted connection to the sport’s most prestigious circuit.

From Pit Lane to Precision: Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch

Racing is a game of fractions, and the Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch is built to track every heartbeat of it. Inspired by the Heuer stopwatches worn around motorsport paddocks in the 1960s and ’70s, this model brings that heritage to the wrist with a striking black, white, and red design—Heuer’s original racing palette.

The dial is laid out with legibility in mind: a silver opaline base with black subdials, bold red accents, and a vintage logo that harks back to its timekeeping roots. The black DLC-coated titanium case keeps it lightweight and modern, while the Calibre 11 movement stays faithful to the original Monaco DNA. Limited to 970 pieces, this release pays tribute to the decade that shaped TAG Heuer’s identity in motorsport.

The Future in Every Second: Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph

The most technically daring of the trio, the TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph brings together over a century of horological mastery with an entirely new material expression. Crafted from TH-Titanium—a texturized, aerospace-grade alloy developed in-house—the case features a raw, elemental pattern unique to each watch, achieved through a proprietary thermal process that reorganizes the metal’s atomic structure.

At just 86 grams including the strap and buckle, this is one of the lightest mechanical chronographs of its kind. Inside beats the Calibre TH81-00, a titanium movement developed with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, capable of split-seconds timing—essential for lap tracking and elite racing precision. A translucent sapphire bezel and dial showcase the movement’s architectural complexity, while lime green accents provide high-contrast legibility straight from the race track.

Monaco: More Than a Watch

From its origin as the world’s first automatic square chronograph to its enduring link with Steve McQueen and its presence at the world’s most iconic races, the Monaco has never stopped pushing boundaries. In 2025, it evolves once more honoring its past, embracing the present, and racing toward the future with the same audacity that defined it over five decades ago.
