The Happy Sport, a critically praised feminine watchmaking icon that has been translated in a variety of bold styles since its inception, has been reimagined in a new chronograph edition. This daring 40 mm-diameter watch has all it takes to appeal. It's sporty by nature and ethical in essence. Seven dancing diamonds round a beautiful gold dial, which is framed by an ethical 18-carat rose gold casing. The Happy Sport Chrono is driven by a chronograph movement with a 54-hour power reserve and COSC-certified chronometer perfection. It's finished off with a midnight blue leather strap that adds to the stylish yet laid-back vibe.
A complication at the heart of the design
The chronograph is a sophisticated and sporty complication that fits it perfectly with the Happy Sport brand. It first appeared in the Happy Sport Chrono collection in 1996 and now characterises the design of the current Happy Sport Chrono model. Two distinctive pushers have been added to the right-hand side of the ethical 18-carat rose gold case, without detracting from the roundness and balance of the collection's signature design.The hours and minutes counters required for the timekeeping operations are also seamlessly incorporated on the gold dial with a satin-finish sunburst and guilloché centre, with blue transfers assuring optimal legibility of the information. The Super-LumiNova® coating on the hour-markers and hands, which ensures that the time can be read in the dark, is the same. The use of gold is a reminder of Chopard's dedication to sustainability, as the company has been using 100 percent ethical gold in the production of its watches and jewellery since July 2018.
