A type of glass that dates back to the 17th century to the famous glass-making quarter of Murano, aventurine is made by mixing copper oxide with glass to create a pattern that resembles the stars in the galaxy. The name aventurine is derived from the Italian word "adventure," which is an appropriate homage.
